Streaming media problems with windows 8.1

My xbox360 is connected via Ethernet to my home network as is my the computer hosting my videos. Media center keeps disconnecting the xbox. I saw the discussion that described using streaming with windows 7 from 2011 but did not find one for windows 8.1.
Any help would be appreciated. I am also using Mcafee internet security suite from ATT.

Windows 10 and xbox 360 media centre

Hi For many years I've been using Windows Media Centre with my Xbox 360. From Vista then Windows 7 then Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Centre

I looked at play to on Windows 8.1 first. It was a pain in the neck because I had to go upstairs to my office start the streaming then go back to the living room. Playing natively on the 360 from shared folders on the PC was no good because it doesn't support
a lot of my files.

... so I upgraded to 8.1 Pro with Media Centre.

I understand Windows 10 will not come with Media Centre support ... are there plans to introduce it later ... is there some other way to connect Media Centre .. ?

 

Xbox App missing stream buttons

Hi, I have recently upgraded my OS from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 Pro N.

I have installed Windows Media Feature Pack - still Xbox app is without streaming options.

I have also reinstalled Xbox App, with Powershell commands.

Still, no options to receive stream from Xbox One console to Windows 10

 

Have you tried using only the Windows Firewall and disabling McAfee's firewall, or disabling McAfee altogether. I believe McAfee is known to cause a lot of network problems. Or you may have a screwy router setting. Try disabling McAfee first before troubleshooting
your router.

 

I did try only using windows firewall, but I really do need the level of security mcafee gives with the family running all over the internet
