Streaming media from PC to Xbox One Issue will not stream

Discus and support Streaming media from PC to Xbox One Issue will not stream in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; since the meda player app came available ive been streaming movies and music but the past week or 2 the content has been laggy ost likely on xbox side...     Streaming media from PC to Xbox One Issue will not stream


    since the meda player app came available ive been streaming movies and music but the past week or 2 the content has been laggy ost likely on xbox side cause my gaming pc is too fast to make it go slow anyway next think I I know my dlna is not showing up
    on my one or other devices I tried going to the win med player and clicking stream and says unexspected device error ive reset both devices and reinstalled the app and the one on the device page nothing I don't know what happened any help would be apreciated

    Streaming Media from my PC to my Xbox One

    I am unable to stream media from my PC (Windows 8) to my new Xbox One. Previously, I could stream media from this PC to my Xbox 360. All I needed to do was right click the media (in this case an MP4) and then select "Play to Xbox 360". The Xbox One is definitely
    on the network and I can do some control of the device using the Windows 8 Xbox One SmartGlass app.

    On the Xbox 360, this was done pretty much according to this forum article:

    Anyone have an idea why I can't stream media to the Xbox One?

    Stream video from PC to XB1?

    Hi, you need to open windows media player, then click Stream, then More Streaming Options & add the Xbox-SystemOS to allowed in there.

    Once added you can then select what you want to stream from your PC by right clicking the file, then select play to option to stream to Xbox-SystemOS.

    I have the same issue.

    I know it's not a PC or Issue as I can stream from my PC to all of the other devices in my household. ( Pads, Phones, Ps4 , 360 and a couple of set-top boxes.

    Streaming media from my Pc on Xbox One just doesn't want to work. Incredibly frustrating as I bought my Xbox One to be the central hub of my entertainment system and I cannot use it. ( Do I get rid of it and start using the "other" brand? I know it doesnt
    have as many features for media control but at least it's performing as advertised.)

    I was considering makiing my own thread but have had trouble getting answers in the past, might just add to yours, wwefan and see what happens.

    the paywall is for xbox music and its not to stream from your pc to x1 its to upload your media to the cloud then stream from that.

    people have assumed this is the only way to get media on your x1.

    You can stream from your PC using the Xbox media center. Its not perfect but it works well enough to stream content stored on your PC.
