Streaming Fortnite using Twitch app from Microsoft store - sound issues

So comparing the settings from a PS4 streaming to twitch and an Xbox One streaming to Twitch isn't the best comparison to ensure everything is working, as settings and options could be different or behave differently on each console. But to be clear, your
friend is on a PS4 streaming via a Twitch/native streaming on the console and not via a PC and capture card? Additionally when you say 'non-xbox' friends, do you mean players on different platforms, or do you mean users on Xbox that are not your Xbox friends?
That can help us determine the next best steps for troubleshooting.

I would recommend reviewing the Privacy and Online Safety Settings for your account. Make sure
settings are there to allow you to share outside of Xbox Live. While there review the other settings and make sure there set to what you're comfortable with, since you're streaming to the internet.

If you want your friends to be heard on your stream>>first all you all have to be in a party. Secondly, people in your party have to enable their voice to be heard on your stream. This is if your using the app on your Xbox One. Now if your game chat
it would pick up with other people are saying in game chat.

If you're using a capture card and using a program for audio mixing or even straight into OBS/Xsplit you can go into your audio options under the XB1 settings and change party chat to broadcast through
headset and speakers. That changes the options for the party chat to your TV speakers and thus your capture card will be able to pick up ongoing party chat.

In your party settings you have to include party audio and the people in your party have to click of the checkbox in the party settings as well to include their audio. Can't find the direct help link but that sounds like the simplest solution from
what you're describing.

Would I find this in Xbox setting or Twitch?

that's not the case - the settings were compared between his Xbox ONE S and my Xbox ONE S

What i tried to infer is *he* plays on Xbox while his friends play on PS and PC and they together are heard on the stream that's streamed from his Xbox.
