Strange xbox one mic problem

A couple of days ago I realized that I could put my bose headphones into my controller and have been using them on and off in place of the mic. They don't allow me to talk but the sound quality is way better so that's why I use them. I found a way around
the talking problem too. I can add a guest with my second controller that has my xbox one mic plugged into it, invite the guest to the party, and talk to my friends just like nothing is different.

The problem I'm having has to do with my original first controller. The one I've been plugging my bose headphones into. When I go into a party now with my xbox one mic plugged in, I can hear people talking but I can't talk. Lo and behold, when I invite the
guest with the mic plugged into the second controller I can talk again. I'm thinking that a hard reset would solve the problem, but I really have no idea what would not be allowing me to talk only through one controller? Hope that all makes sense

MICROPHONE PROBLEM ON XBOX APP PLS HELP

man i don't know what to do anymore,when i talk in a party of the app,my friends say that is some strange noise coming from my mic,i hear them normally but then don't hear me,just the strange noise,is not a problem from my mic because it work in every app(Skype,ts,discord)

I've tried all of that and I have two mics and they work at times and then quit on me. Complete bs the buttons work on the mic and light up and make the volume noises but no chat I've tried messing with the settings too
