Strange situation with trying to retrieve account, no help from MS

So I have a friend that hasn't hasn't used his Xbox Live account in a few years. He ran it through a Charter email address, and then quit using it once he dropped their services. The email address now belongs to somebody in St. Louis. He also has changed
his phone number, so basically there is no way for him to get a confirmation code to unlock it. When trying to get support to call him, they were of no help. He doesn't have the credit card listed anymore that's linked to the account, he simply wants to redownload
his rock band songs and improve his gamerscore and he can't. His username is "irsh crbmb". The rep on the phone would not transfer to supervisor, or could help him in any way. Is there anything that can be done to restore his account?

@Anteater contacting support will not help the OP in this situation. His account ban is permanent and as dave has stated above he will be unable to retrieve anything he bought with that account.

Hey there, Readytk. I'm very sorry to hear about your situation. That definitely does not sound fun and I do apologize for the inconvenience. However, the Microsoft Accounts Team are the only ones who can help with this. If you can't answer the security
questions required to retrieve the account then unfortunately nothing can be done. I'd recommend trying again in the future if you can manage to remember any of those account details.

 

The main problem is he gets the error "we believe someone is using your account, contact support." This is the problem as he doesn't have access to his old email or the old phone number to get verification.

 

As far as I am aware without being able to provide enough information to prove he is the account holder, there is nothing much that can be done.

And he has spoken directly to a support agent over the phone about this issue?. They are the people he needs to talk too, but without any information I am afraid he may have no luck.

If your friend knows the e mail address for the account, but not the password and can't reset the password, there may be another process that he can go through via Xbox Support.

What they do is send the account up to the Advocacy Team and ask for some extra help in verifying that the account is his. The Advocacy Team work in the background so you can't really talk to them (unless they e mail you)

If he he has the console that he used to play on with his account, he should be in good shape. They'll ask him for some information off of that console and they're gonna ask him to fill out the password reset form found here:
Recover your account. He may have tried it before, which is fine, but in the e mail that he gets back from the form, there's an 'Account Recovery Request Number' that they'll ask you guys
for, so if he deleted the e mail, I'd run through the form again so you guys have it ready for the Xbox Agent.

They'll do some magic in the background to try and help him get it back. This is assuming that he knows the e mail address for the account, he's still has the e mail he got back from that form AND that he can access the console he used that account on,
though. Without those he's toast.

I've been through that process a time, or two. =)

i guess he's just toast. he bought a lot of songs on there for rock band and has no way to access them now.
