Strange Mic Static in chat

I apologize for the wall of text but this issue is very strange and Id rather explain in detail.

I recently bought a brand new Astro A50 headset and am having some issues 2 months into owning them. I thought it was the headset that was the issue but that's not the case, I'll start from the beginning.

After 2 months of use the astros have been treating me very well. Then one day (maybe 3 days ago) when I joined a friends party, all they could hear was an extremely loud static noise coming from my headset and they couldn't hear me. Every party I would
join had the same issue so I thought there was something wrong with the Astros so I returned them and got another new set to only have the issues still occurring. I called Xbox and they couldn't figure it out, I then called Astro and they couldn't either but
they referred me to their tech support beyond how he could help me.

After these calls, I had attempted every troubleshooting step they had both told me (making sure settings are set for A50's, firmware up to date, hard reset head set, reset Xbox one by holding down power, you name it).

I noticed that the static ONLY happens when the Xbox is producing sound (menu selection sound effects, game music, gun fire etc) so when the Xbox had no sound effects happening (like sitting on the dashboard with nothing playing) there isn't any static in
the chat. I know exactly when the static happens because I use the party overlay and everytime I move the stick to select a game/app/other selections my GT pops up. When playing a game with music, the static is constant. However, I can send voice messages
to others with no static and they can hear me (I've played my voice back too and it sounds great in a voice message).

I now realize it is not the headset. I can power down the Astros entirely and even unplug them and the same issue persists, even when no head phones are connected. I've tried ear buds, generic Xbox mic, and no mic/headset and the same thing happens.

Any help is appreciated, as far as now, Xbox chat is down for me.

Static in Mic

I was in a party chat with my friends and each of them was saying my mic had a lot of static feed back. i tried to unplug it and plug it back in and it didnt work. then i turn my xbox one on and off again, and it didnt work. can it be my controller?

Got a new mic and all is well. The problem was the wire inside the plug, when I moved it, I was told it made even more noises. The design of the headphone plug doesn't give you a place for your finger to pull it out by the plastic, and you wind up pulling
on the wire, and pull it loose.

 

Go on recording devices choose which ever is default and go to advanced, change it to 2 channel, 16, 96000 Hz, or any of the 16 bit options. it will stop the noise, trust me it took 2 support agents and 3 hours to find the fix.

In addition to what Mrs Assassin13 suggested, if you try a Skype Echo test , do you still experience the static noise with
your headset?

Are you experiencing constant static noise when others are speaking to you in an Xbox party? If so, our party audio steps may be able to help out
