Strange LAG. Paypal reward to anyone that comes with a tip that fixes it!

This is actually for MWR (although I guess it would still be present on infinite warfare).

Never had this problem in the past when I played on Xbox360, and it seems kinda frequent on my xbox one S.

A little background: Done the advanced network test on Xbox One S and it shows me numbers that all seem GOOD. Talked to my broadband supplier and the checks theyve done seem good (router). But when I play I run after red dots on the radar that are NOT there
(due to lag). I'm constantly 1-2 shots after the enemy and I know the lag is there (having to lead my shots extremely in advance when chasing an enemy for example).

When playing, things at times seem slow (i.e the game seems not to function in the speed it was supposed to) and navigating in the menu produces lag as well (for example when renaming a custom class, typing in the letters is delayed - from pressing the button
to getting the action on the screen)

I tried port forwarding, I tried DMZ, I tried the "energy saving" option, the clear alternatic mac adress option and the "restart" option.

I've been playing this on 2 different locations both with WIRED connection and both with high speed connection, but the lag is still present.

I am NOT sure what's going on here.

Is it the game? Could it be my Xbox one S? Am I being put in servers that (to me) are laggy and thus there's nothing I can do about it?

Anyone experienced anything similar or have found some sort of fix to laggy gameplay, please let me know.

Would save me from quite a few rage quits

Paypal not working for me

The paypal issue is currently because xbox requires that you have a paypal balance in your paypal right now, I've contacted a supervisor over the phone. They stated that they are working with paypal to come out with a fix to this issue, So the only way to
buy things is with your credit card right now, or get the paypal debit mastercard(which pulls from your paypal balance)

You know what'd be awesome? They rewrite the friggin net code so that we enjoy a lag free experience. At least fix the crappy filters at least. Another tip for you lazy programmers at 3arc. Geographical proximity means nothing in the internets! Read a little
more on that topic and fix the matchmaking filters.

 

If you are getting lag when going to the menu then I would imagine it is something with the game and not your console. If it was something to do with your console then you would notice more problems with other games. Here a few different things to try.

1 Hard restart - hold your power button while turning off your console for 10 seconds.

2 Clear reserved space - Go to your game icon, press the menu button, manage game, saved data, click on reserved space and clear reserved space.

3 Try changing your system's DNS settings - Primary: 8.8.8.8 Secondary: 8.8.4.4 in your advanced network settings - If there is no change then you can change it back to automatic rather than manual setting

4 Change game install location - Is the game installed on internal or external drive. You can try to move the game to the opposite drive if you have more than 1 drive.

5 Hard wired controller - Try using the controller plugged into the console by usb rather than wireless.

 

Thanks for the answer! Yes, there is some "glitch" or lag when I'm online but not playing. Like I mentioned when I rename classes, the whole thing is slower than me so I end up doing weird mistakes just because the thing is "glitching". I'm thrown out of
lobbies and put into others. And when going through the transition from a lobby to the game, I actually come into the game when the timer is down to like 3 or 5.. I'm one of the last to connect..

The game is installed internally and I tried the DNS suggestion you came with as well as the clear reserved space. Might just have to try a wired controller even though I have a feeling this isn't about that. Thanks again!
