    Strange issues


    All of a sudden today my Xbox One is having a weird problem. It boots up just fine, but there is no sound and it periodically says Kinect is not attached. Can't use any voice commands either. Everything is plugged in, tried restarting it, etc.I have no idea
    what is going on.

    Strange issues.

    No real way to determine. You could try that-now-legendary-fix "clearing the cache": I don't know exactly what it is, but it gets applied for just about any and all console problems. Whatever you do, resist the urge to open the console for any kind of
    self-repair. Also resist the urge to take it anywhere that advertises gaming console repair. The reason for these warnings is that MS states that the console should be opened execpt by them. If you do so (or someone else does), MS will detect that the next
    time you log onto Live and you will eventually get a console ban. In which case you will never connect to Live again...at least with that console. And if it turns out that niether you nor somelse's repair fails to work, since it has been opened MS will not
    repair it either. The best thing is fork out $100-$120 and send it in to MS for repair.

    Usually I'd say dodgy discs but that's a serious run of foul luck there even if they're all second hand. Commandeer a friend's copy of those games and see if you run into the same issues. If you do then the console's the problem, if not then I'd advise against
    purchasing a lottery ticket for the foreseeable future.

    I have actually had a similar problem. It sounds silly but I did the whole unplug, wait like 30 minutes, and plug back in method and it worked. You need to make sure that it is fully unplugged from the TV, outlet, and console.

    Cheers for the response. Same issues, only mw2 was second hand, all of the other games are/were brand new. Any clue as to what is wrong with the console itself? Thanks.

    Cheers for the help and advice about repairing it. I have already tried that "clearing the cache" trick that seems to get advised to any problem on xbox.. Just played fifa and now it has started doing it on Head to Head seasons too, three games in a row
    that I was winning now losses.. Great. Ive had enough of this rubbish now. I should have sent it back when I first started noticing problems on the second hand mw2 but silly me assumed that the console wouldn't have been at fault. Never had any issues with
    my ps3! Cheers for those that responded.
