Strange Issue With Games Not Booting?

To put it simply, some games just won't work. It doesn't take too long and flash up an error, it doesn't say clean discs cannot be read. They just don't work. And it is not the fault of the disc. Most of the discs I'm using are in good condition, with minimal
scratching or light, wear and tear scratching.

This is happening with all of my disc-based backwards compatible games (digital versions are functioning), certain DVDs and Blu-Rays, certain XBOX One titles, and-basically, the only things fully functioning are Digital.

We've tried holding down power on the console, unplugging the brick, and clearing out the storage cache for Blu-Ray discs in "Settings." We've hit a wall. Any help on this front would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

if possible be sure to check if the discs run without isdues on a different Xbox One console, this will determine if it's related to your console or not.

Also be sure to check this support page for steps you may not have tried yet:

It will also have steps to try and determine if the console maybe in need of repair or not.

It could also be the malfunctioning disc player, try inserting a disc that is not a game, like a movie or music to see if the player starts.

the clean boot didnt change anything.

i have the same issue across my devices (laptop and desktop). However, I can find and install the games via the MS web store.

Strange.

This is more of a question for the repair team but was curious if there is any type of overheating issue going on or if the console is making any strange noises on boot up.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? It seems very strange that it only seems to have issues on cold boot, and when a connection test is run it works fine.
