Strange fix?

Hello, so I've been having problems connecting to games, as well as party chats the last few nights, which is kind of annoying seeing as I work 10 hours a day and only have 1-2 hours tops to get my gaming in afterwards.

The main game that has been giving me the issue is Dying Light, but I know the issue wasn't just with the game, as I was getting error 0x807d0106 when trying to connect to a party as well.

I am connected directly to my home networking modem, UpNp is on, ports are forwarded, and the NAT type showing on the xbox itself is set to Open on mine and the other parties console. We have both tried hard resets of the console and the modem. When I host
the party, he gets the 0x807 error, when he hosts the party, I get the 0x807 error.

After trying various other things such as clearing the blu-ray and dvd memory etc, I came across a post that said to try and change your region as it may be set up wrong. I checked mine, and it showed I am in Canada, as I am, so I doubted that was the issue,
but decided to switch it to U.S. anyway just to see what happened. Voila, able to chat, connect to games, and everything works again.

My question is, if I'm living in Canada, and the other party is also in Canada, why should I have to switch my region to U.S. to be able to connect to him?

Strange Games for strange times

I'm in Gamestop last night and am looking at a title of a game I can't even remember and don't feel like googling. Its a game that has english words but its completely done in Japanese. The voice acting and everything is completely in Japanese. I sat on my couch just kind of narrating to myself what's happening to keep my mind on track. Such gems as "Okay, that's an orc, guess I have to kill it. Alright, I'm in the air. Okay, there's a fire."

That's just one battle.
