Hey, Dmbledore! As the guys in here said, this is how it's supposed to work. If you would like to post a suggest for that to change, please post that on the Feedback site that Bimnog pointed to and Stuart provided the link for. That will be the best home
for your suggestion.

It's working exactly as designed , so I doubt you will get an "official " response , like I said above , if you want to see some sort of menu added, then you should post that on the feedback page ...

If you put the xbox in power saving mode it does power off and stay off. If yours is not doing that then there may be other issues.

Yes the is the "Official" XBOX Support forum but it is monitored primarily my gamers like yourself. Why do you ask?

In addition to powering my console off after each gaming session, I disconnect the power cord at the back my console because I believe when I power something off, it should stay off. The Xbox One does not adhere to this fundamental principal. I don't
want it doing anything in the background.

I did consider your suggestion of getting of getting a USB connector that connect to a wall outlet. I may have to end up doing that.

Also, isn't this a Xbox One official support forum?
