    Strange connection issues...


    Lately I've been having some odd connection problems with my xbox 360 when I go online. It takes longer than usual to join friends' parties and some or most of the time, it will even fail to connect to them and I've also been having lag spikes which just
    ends up with me timing out of matches.

    I thought I was having some wireless issues so I switched to wired connection but the problem persisted. I recently got upgraded to a new dual band router from my ISP which is when the problem started and also recently set up American Netflix on my Smart TV
    in the living room. Any of these could be causing my problem?

    I just ran a speedtest and the results are ping: 7MS down:98.48Mbps up:3.78Mbps. Speedtest was ran through wired connection on my laptop.

    Any suggestions?

    Appreciate if you could post up the make and model of your modem as well.

    Visit Belkin website and make sure your router is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware, for your specific model number and hardware revision number.

    Try using an Ethernet cable if not than try contacting your provider

    Unfortunatley, I've already tried all of that. My ISP is reliable, and I contacted them several times. Also, I understand that it is my connection to the host. The problem is that everyone else will have 4-bars, including my friend who lives very close to
    me, who also has the same ISP.

    The number of devices you have connected to the internet through your router can also effect the connection and speed.

    Coincidence or not?

    The rest of the world is having the same issues this week mate.

    Supposedly there is nothing wrong...but I am not so easily convinced.

    I can be connected to several devices on my modem...wireless and hard wired...no probs...Xbox Live just keeps disconnecting...my guess is it's the roll out for Xbox One...with the promised 300,000 servers...

    I had contacted ISP...reset modem...re-port forwarded...tried different 360's...re-downloaded profile...and a bunch of other stuff suggested...

    Look, I think that your router isn't the issue this last fortnight if you want my opinion...

    But I can say with past experience with Belkin routers is that they seem to have NAT issues more so than other brands.

    So the ongoing issue of resets and having strict NAT needs be to addressed anyway.

    I have tried both wired and wireless connection, to no avail.

    From the earlier post, he router is a Belkin N300 Model F9K1002v5. Thanks for the assistance!
