strange bug- cant purchase unrated games

Adult account, but prompted to get parent's permission for purchase

i am having the same issue. never had problems before suddenly started this week. i cant purchase any games that are unrated. any 18+ rated or any others that are rated i can. but unrated i cant. support just dont care going round in circles after circles
with the issue. waiting on a raised ticket for higher support now.. can i ask do you know if that game you are trying to buy is rated or not?

I'm getting the same challenge, a few weeks ago I bought both Destiny Rise of Iron and BF1 Early Enlister Edition with no issues. Today I've tried to but the BF1 Premium Pass and:

Now I've never had a child account. In fact that was back in Dial up days. I have a Family setup but it only has adults.

 

I had also just purchased WWE 2K17 Pre-Order just days before this started happening.

It seems like a bug involving family settings or some sort, i dont have a family setup myself but i did have in the past maybe 6 months ago or so. It had 2 adults and 1 child.

I just hope they sort it before 23rd september otherwise i will be missing out on the Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate Edition benefit of playing early.

 

Well after 5 days since i had a ticket raised with higher support.... nothing!!

Had to get back on live chat this morning only to be told there is still no update and to wait for an email..

I'm having the same problem. I've had my account for 5+ years, and it's always been an "adult" account. I am a member of a family, and there are child accounts in that family, but that should not affect me. I cannot download the Battlefield 1 Open Beta.

 

Same problem here with BF1 Open Beta.

Whats funny is i managed to download the Battlefield 1 Beta by redeeming the EA Insider early access code. Went through straight away and started downloading on the console. Its just absolute comedy.

Come on Microsoft sort it out !!!

 

Same exact problem. 46 years old and cannot download Battlefront. Perhaps my 78 year old Mother will let me do it? C'Mon Microsoft!

 

Same problem here - with BF 1 - tried online chat but they just wasted an hour of my time - they didn't even understand I was trying to download a beta and not purchase a pre-order. Total waste of time. Ah well, hopefully they will sort soon so I can have
a go at this.

I do think it's something to do with family settings though - have couple of kids on the family account so maybe if one of them is set to child it won't allow it - no idea.

Sigh, 1 hour on live chat and you just KNOW they are going to ask you to check your router - about 42 minutes in - yes they did that. Lol

 

Hey, everyone! We'd like to dig into this further. Can you please post back with the games/content you are running into this error on? Additionally, are you guys attempting to do this on both the website and console, or on one or the other?

Got a fix/work around for this now - log in to xbox APP on your phone. Search store for BF open beta (in my case) - use the app to 'purchase' and it worked straight away and showed up on xbox ready to install

 

That may be a fix to get Battlefield Beta TouretteSkip but it isnt a fix for the actual issue at hand.

Misses Quinzel it happens on both console and website. As stated support ran through everything over and over to no avail and they are still apparentley looking into this although no update for 6 days now...

I checked my console update history and it updated to latest version on 21/8/16. I purchased WWE 2K17 on the 20/8/16 without a problem. My problems started on 24/8/16 so im wondering could it be some sort of software glitch that is making unrated content
unavailable? My guess is that we will never know and that i will have to wait until games are released or rated until i can but these games im looking forward too..

It appears Forza has gone gold and been made available for download but its still not rated.

Its all just abit silly really and if Microsoft really cared they would be working on it and providing an update e-mail from support at least.
