    Storage for Game Install

I just recently started playing my Xbox360 and have a game which needs 8 gigs to install. I only have a 3gig xbox. I've read and seen videos about using usb storage devices (after configuring them), but also xbox suport say something which confuses me. Xbox
support page says "Xbox 360 games" can be saved to a generic USB drive, but it also says "Orignal xbox games" cannot be saved to USB generic drives.

What I would like to have clarified, installing a game which needs 8 gigs of space falls into which category of these 2 categories:

    1. "save xbox 360 games" thus yes i can use a generic usb drive to install the game,

    2. or "save Original xbox games" meaning i cannot use a generic USB generic drive

Please help and thanks in advance

    :)

Xbox 360 downloading games and the cloud

Well no that is your only solution

Cloud storage isn't meant for game storage

One drive is for media not game storage

Games still require you to install locally

The 360 will work with most USB storage devices that are formatted/partitioned with FAT32 filesystems. Not all storage devices are created equal. Some will be slower than others, and some require more power than all 360s available can provide. In general,
you should be fine with a 16GB flash drive from just about any manufacturer.

Keep in mind that if you are planning to install games to USB storage, some will not install as they require a HDD. Others may run slowly depending on how fast the storage device is. For save game storage, a flash drive is typically fine. For game installs
and DLC installs, a HDD is typically a better choice.

If the game gives you an option to install it, the you can install it to a USB drive. Original Xbox is referring the console before the 360. So if the game is for the 360 you can use a USB drive.

You can't install Xbox games onto a USB device. Xbox 360 games on the other hand, you can. All you need is the properly formatted USB device (Avoid flash drives, they die very quickly).

Xbox one games crashing upon launch

    Hi there,

just to be sure, are the games installed on the internal storage device or an external storage device?

If they are installed on an external storage device, please try and see what happens if the game is installed on the internal storage device and the external storage device is disconnected.

How to Xbox series x the new one external hard drive doesn't take any updates even when you tell it to how do you do it

Updates for the console itself will only install on the internal storage, and updates for games will only install where the games are stored. So if the game is installed on the internal storage, then the update for that game will install on the internal storage. You cannot pick and choose where an update is installed.

    Installed games not in storage

happens at times, just restart your xbox or tun it off and unplug it for about 35 seconds and then plug it back in and start it up

    Installed games not in storage

    Hi,

Not heard of this issue before, but it's not something that should be there. It appears your console has a bug. It should be fixable though.

If you haven't already, you should try a hard reset. With the console on, hold down the power button until it goes off. Wait about 10 seconds and power it back on. Check your Installed games. If they now show, problem solved.

If not, you should attempt a console reset. Please read and understand

    this guide
fully. As there are two types of reset. One reset's the console's Operating System, but keeps your installed games and Apps. The other eases everything.

You'll also need to know your account details to log back in.
