    I have tried all of the suggestions that were listed. My xbox series s has been plugged into this storage device for nearly a year, and the xbox one before this one for nearly a year. As of today my xbox turns on but only to shut down entirely (like a hard shut down). I unplugged my Seagate 1TB portable storage device and the xbox will work, but ever time I plug in the storage it shuts down. I have reset the console. I have plugged the storage device into my laptop and ran diagnostics on it and it seems fine. I see that there was an update yesterday, and this happened today. I have also seen a number of posts with people having the same issues over the last couple of year. I am unable to do anything to the storage device when it is plugged into the xbox because it shuts down without loading. I have also plugged the device into my old Xbox One with the same results.

    Basically when i plug in my storage the xbox shuts down.

    Please provide adequate fix actions/troubleshooting tips.

    Hey there Devin! Are you referring to the console itself taking a long time to load, or the games themselves? If the games, have you tried installing them to the HDD? Also, if you use this HDD on another console, does it have the same issues? Let us know,

    I am going to assume that you recently purchased a fairly new Xbox 360 of either the 4gb or 250gb version. When you start a game for the first time (and pretty much every time after that) it should ask if you want to save on your Hard drive. It may also
    list a cloud storage or usb stick depending on what settings you have enabled or accessories you have installed.

    If it is not listing a hard drive option, then it is possible that the unit shipped with a faulty hard drive or one with a loose connection. If the above does not work I recommend contacting Xbox support for resolution at:

    Which console did you purchase? Did it.come with a hard drive? Are you connected to the internet. When.it prompts youbto select storage device what options are available. Lastly do you own a USB flash drive or Xbox 360 memory card?
