Stopping installation of Overwatch

Hello support-team,

Ive got a big problem after deleting the game Overwatch. I´ve trend all support message I've found on the net.

The problem happens on my Xbox One . There are two profiles installed, mine and the profile of my son. On my Xbox one X the game could be used without any problems an the latest updates could be installed.

After putting the disc into the Xbox One the installation will seat, but after a few seconds it ist stopped.If I want to install the game by using the Microsoft Shop I've get an message that I can only install a demo version. It is not recognized that in
the drive is the original DVD form the game. If I try to install the demo, it stops also after a few seconds. No way of re-installing the game.

We are very disappointed about that fact.

Could you advise any solution ?

OverWatch won't update why it keep on saying installation stopped

I've been trying to update overwatch for 3 days and fortnite for 2, fortnite is slowly installing by a few mbs each time the console is turned on however overwatch is not updating at all and it keeps saying "installation stopped"

Thanks for bringing this situation to our attention here on the forums. I understand that you are having issues installing the game Overwatch from a disc is that correct? Although the disc is in the console it would still not allow you to install the digital
version of the game itself that's by design. I suggest you try the steps listed in this link:

The installation process stops at or near 0% when installing an Xbox One game from a disc. Let us know with a reply how it goes.

Hey Frost thanks for keeping in touch!

We suggest, if it hasn't already been done, to try the installation offline to discard the network as the problem.

To install a disc offline go to SETTINGS>NETWORK>NETWORK SETTINGS>GO OFFLINE. When the console goes offline please

POWERCYCLE the console and try the installation again and as stated by fellow XBF George L keep us posted bud!

thanks a lot for your latest post. in the meantime I tried to do step by step all of your hints, but without any success.

I get the following error codes:

0x80070026 (by trying to install the game by using the Microsoft Store, but I wonder because the store recognized that I have a test version but that's not true, I've got a original full version on the disc)

0x87e1000c by trying the installation by using the disc

I`ve got no idea.

on another Xbox one X there are no probs.

Hello Cellfrost,

We recommend being that it is a Disc install, is to install it offline. Go to the my games and apps uninstall the game. Then go to settings>network>network settings>go offline. Power cycle the console, once back on then put the disc in and try and install
it. This will install the game faster also will install it without doing the update at the same time. Once the game is done installing then go back online start the game and it will update.

new status:

after trying again your suggestion the installation stops at 0,0% but in the app and game menu the game is shown as completed installed.

one more question: is it important if the game will be installed on the internal or external drive?

I think I must contact the developer of the game. What do you think?

Thanks for keeping us updated. Be sure to inspect the disc for any scratches or micro-cracks on it, sometimes the smallest bit of damage can prevent a game from being installed. It may be good to also wipe the disc down with a micro-fiber cloth to clean
it well.

Hello Ezra,

the disk is not the problem. The surface of the disk looks like new. On my other Xbox One X the installation with the same disk wasn‘t a problem.

What do you think about the error codes?

Ok so after the steps suggested haven't had the desired effect and the error codes keep coming up we suggest a reset of the console since
the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a

Soft Factory Reset (while keeping games and apps) IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

• There is a stable network connection.
• The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!

Thanks for your response. Here's a link on how to complete a soft factory reset:

Xbox One Factory Reset. Be sure to have the Profile's Microsoft Account information (e-mail & password) available to sign back into the account. If you sign back into the account being used currently, your son will not lose any gamer score etc. Also be
sure to select: "Reset and keep my games & apps" this selection will keep all content on the console during the reset, so the only thing the console will need to continue operating as normal, will be signing back into the account.
