    Stopped Reading Media USB Drives


    My Xbox One is no longer reading my NTFS formatted hard drive which I use for photos & media. It shows in storage settings as "unformatted" with 2TB free. The drive works fine with my laptop and blurry player. I've also tried it (and other drives) formatted
    to exFat and Fat32 with no success.

    Any ideas?

    Issues with External hard drive

    I have an Xbox one and it stopped reading my Seagate hard drive. I did a hard reset and changed the usb port it was plugged into but still nothing

    xbox one media player cant detect my USB drive..?

    is there something I missed with the media player? do I need a certain type of USB drive? do I need to do something to my USB drive for it to show up on my media player?

    Just check to see if your media player needs an update that can cause it, Mine needed one.

    How do you check for an app update? I deleted & reinstalled it so I assume that would download the new version wouldn't it?

    Yes it should , Also if you click on the app in games and apps it will start to load and if it needs an update it will update.

    Media Player App Issues

    I experience the same issues.

    128 gb USB drive with about 75 gb of music files on it. Have plugged it into all the USB ports.

    Playing a single music folder (typically a single album) is not a problem. If I try to shuffle the entire USB drive, however, it stops during song 2 or 3 and kicks back out to the dashboard.

    As for the general playback, it's super frustrating that when you hit the back button, the media player stops playing the current track. You should be able to browse other files / folders within the USB drive without stopping your current track. This was
    available on 360, no reason it shouldn't be included on the One's media player.

    Do you have the USB stick formatted as NTFS by any chance?

    The 360 will only read drives that are FAT32 or HFS+ for media purposes (when plugged into one of the console's USB ports).
