Stop with the updates!

There are far too many updates going on...

I come home from work, have my tea and then go on the XBOX to find yet another update waiting.

This is to regular of an occurrence, what are these updates?

I see no improvements, the UI has gone down hill since the initial launch...

***looks over to the Xbox, oh the update is still running!***

I just want to know why xbox think it's ok to keep having updates that, basically stop it from Woking. EVERY TIME.

Can you confirm if you are in the Insider program (formerly preview program) as this may be the reason you are receiving multiple console update in a short space of time. If you are in the insider program then it should be possible to move your console to
a different insider tier that receives less updates or unenrol from the program altogether.

Yes it does.

You have to make sure the console is in "low power mode" (if you can turn on your console with your controller your in low power mode) if this is the case then make sure the console is allowed to update games and apps while switched off.

If you don't have an external hard drive then your console will update games even when its switched off.

If you do have an external hard drive (and its USB powered) then you need to make sure that the console is passing power to the hard drive, without that the console cant update games because the games aren't accessible because the hard drive has no power.
