Stop Intrusive Updates?

So a few times now as I've been playing Halo MCC, I have been kicked out of the game to the dashboard to install an update for it when I'm in the middle of a campaign mission. I have to sit there and wait for a 1+GB patch and then I also have to start my
mission from the very beginning instead of the last checkpoint. This is starting to really annoy me. I know that the patches are for MP but I just wanna beat all the campaigns first. Haven't touched MP yet. I don't understand why I'm forced to install updates
for something I don't care about until I beat the 4 campaigns.

Is there a way to disable the forced update nonsense? I just want to set it to install the updates the next time I launch the game.

app achievements - most obnoxious idea ever. It's almost as bad as having to watch a commercial before almost any youtube video now. I'm tiring of being slapped in the face by intrusive, unexpected happenings that are harshing my mellow. It needs to stop.

I have the exact opposite... I have to restart my console to get any update.

 

there is no way around it. microsoft and game developers don't like to give us a warning before pushing updates. nothing you can do but suffer sadly.
