Discus and support Stop Games from Updating in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; How can I stop games from updating? I installed Halo 5, it asked if I wanted to update, I said NO.     Stop Games from Updating


    How can I stop games from updating? I installed Halo 5, it asked if I wanted to update, I said NO. The next day it went ahead and downloaded anyway. I have limited bandwidth, and this update just used up 75% of my monthly allowance. How can I control the
    system to be sure that it only downloads when I approve?

    Unfortunately there isn't. If you wanna play games online you have no choice but to update them.

    Also another part of the problem is when he tries to start the game, it wants to update, and if you don't do the update it signs out out of xbox live.

    I don't think there's really any way around that one.

    The system is designed to check for updates upon launch of a game. The only feasible way I can see to stop that would be to temporarily disconnect your Xbox from the internet whilst a game launches. This would obviously prevent you from playing 'online'
    but the system is there to ensure all online players have the same version/patches applied...

    The update was 9 GB according to sources. Your data cap is only 12 GB a month?! That's horrible. Time to switch ISP's.

    I live in the woods. Satellite is my only option. Generally I get by, but the more control over timing I have, the better I can manage things. AND we have Windows 10 coming this month: oh, oh.

    GTA 5 - took about 8 hours to install on Xbox One (digital preorder)

    StevieGee911 there was a day one update to the game. They patched the game plus add a achievement and reduesed some GS on a few achievements. I hope clear up the update part. But the thing is. You never will stop the update from downloading at this time
    from a digital download. Only way is to stop from downloading the update. If you where doing it from disk.
