Stop focusing on SOCIAL NETWORKING, Microsoft!

Someone posted the other other day why he couldn't link his feed to facebook, so I quess there is a want for it.

 

Why is "entitled" the latest buzzword that seems to stuck around here for so long? Nowhere did the OP act as if MS *owed* him a thing. He simply stated how he feels about the console, and as a consumer and customer, there's no reason he shouldn't be allowed
to do so. I think some people around here need to look up the word "entitlement" and actually understand the meaning instead of constantly parroting it anytime someone says something even slightly negative about their console of choice.

 

Ok so you have an xbox one but no smartphone... I paid 40 dollars for my android which was cheaper than the flip phone. If you go to a third world country like mexico they all have smart phones too. You obviously don't understand the point of communicating
with a company... its for voicing opinion, not for you to get your little liberalized feelz hurt, because I made a obviously false generalization. social networking is to blame for people telling others just how entitled they are... guess you need that.

 

The OP wants MS to stop focusing on other stuff (which other people may have an interest in) and focus on only what the stuff there interested in, sound entitled to me.

 

Once again, someone seems to have no idea what the word "entitled" means, or apparently the word "only". Do you truly think the OP is the *only* one interested in the changes they mentioned? Just because someone is obviously more interested in things they
personally want does not mean they think they're entitled to them. Not even close.

It they were here *demanding* changes, threatening to switch to PS4, and stomping their feet then I would understand the "entitlement" replies. Considering the context of the posts though, the entitlement replies are entirely unwarranted and out of line.
Seriously, MS fanboys need to come up with something original already and quit parroting the "entitlement" bull.

 

No need for damage control, OP is complaining about the removal of gesture control and social features, but gesture controls were used so little that MS didn't felt the effort didnt justified the demand, but there was a demand for social features.

It's like how people do nothing but complain about Call of Duty, but people still buy it, MS is only doing what the masses want.

 

Entitlement is something the hipsters threw out there and it's still lingering around a bit like beards and tats, don't worry, it will go away eventually. It's cheap, it's easy and it's meaningless.

They don't call it Xbox Live for nothing. It's good to have friends and be able to play with them and communicate with them in multiple ways. Many people have built thriving relationships and social experiences on Xbox Live. Microsoft acquired Skype and
Minecraft probably because millions play Minecraft and video chat can be fun especially to visually meet people from around the world. Voice Messaging was the highest demand with thousands of votes for it on the official Xbox feedback site when Xbox 1 didn't
have the feature. Xbox is for ALL ages, not just oldies. Kinect, txt/voice (picture messaging Xbox 360 feature), game chat, party chat, and playing with others who live near and far from you. It's more fun spending your free time with others rather than ALONE.

As for Xbox 1's current UI, which is Windows 10 based, it's the fastest UI they've made for Xbox 1. I remember what the UI was like at Xbox 1's Launch, that Windows 8 based slow UI. Many people I think would like your console to talk back to it. Microsoft
allows this with Windows 10's Cortana digital personal assistant. After all, Google and Apple phones talk back to you. It's fun. Besides, its great having an electronic device which can do more than ONE thing. Xbox should be a broader experience and I think
it's a great hobby. Play games, socialize with others, watch videos, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if they acquired Facebook or YouTube next.

It pays to go for the 12 month Gold subscriptions, it's cheaper than going for the 1 month Gold subscriptions or 3 months. Pay it once, and you're covered for a long 12 months. Xbox Live Gold is also fairly priced too compared to your electricity or phone/internet
bills. Microsoft needs some money to help sustain it's service and that's why you pay for Gold. Sony has introduced this too on the PSN. But Xbox does provide sort of 'thanks for being a Gold member' through games with gold monthly deals on Xbox 360 and Xbox
1. Although they may not be the kind of games you want, it's the thought that counts. I even get Happy Birthday emails from Microsoft too. They listen or at least take into account your feedback. As evidence, Xbox 1 know has a lot of Xbox 360 features now,
which it missed at Launch, like change dash background, battery indicator, external HDD support, voice messaging, etc.

 

totally disagree with you CC, the OP is demanding they stop doing the things he thinks MS is doing by shouting (the caps in the title), and by using the words want, and not would like is demanding they do the things they want. And is ranting and stomping
their feet in a block of text.

Its also directed at MS, as it starts Dear MS, and is clearly a I want I want.

The OP could have worded it very differently to be much more constructive and offer a discussion but chose not to.

It is nice to see you being positive for a change but I disagree with you on this one.

 

Not sure you understand what demanding is... You know if your precious company you work fot free for would have just made it clear the gestures were taken away with the update I wouldn't have thought my console wasnt working. I don't use this forum often

^ And perhaps if you described your issue in a calm and rational manner you would have received calm and rational replies. Instead you come on here comparing the console to a smartphone and generally being ranty. You reap what you sow.

 

To be fair the op has a point, while the x1 does alot of things it doesn't do them well, entry level smart phones/tablets provide a much quicker/less frustrating experience in everything but gaming.

I'm a fan of some but not all the social media aspects of the console. You can't please everyone though and I get that. But I think the features are great as a whole. I think it's what makes the console unique. However OP if you are not pumped on some of
