Stop focusing on SOCIAL NETWORKING, Microsoft!

Dear Microsoft, Please stop trying to better the social networking side of the Xbox One and focus on making it a faster, more efficient system. EVERYONE who owns this console surely has a computer, a smartphone and probably some other device to use social
media on. So, is it really something that needs to be focused on or is it just a cop out to say your doing something when its seeming like its going down hill. I want my Gestures back. When the update came in, I thought my console was messing up but I ended
up looking it up online and seeing that it was removed with the update. How is something an update when you downgrade the tech? lol. The new platform doesn't benefit me in the least bit. Some of my apps don't work like they used to and I am pretty much waiting
for you guys with the $$$ to do something to this darn console that's going to be worth my time and money. I pay $9.99 for Xbox gold and while some of the games are ok, most of them are really low quality. I really am upset about the lack of Kinect games
for the console and was hoping backwards compatibility would cover the 360 Kinect games I own that are basically useless to me now. Come on guys, no more social media updates.

OUYA might compete with next gen?

I'd rather see gaming go the OUYA route than the appbox/social networking direction Microsoft is taking it.

The free games are not supposed to be AAA titles but a thank you to players for being members of Gold. Once and awhile they'll throw in a top tier game.

As far as your 360 Kinect games. Its not going to happen as the Xbox one Kinect is different from the 360 Kinect. The social media aspect of the console doesn't bother me. in fact it has helped me decide what to watch when I was bored and couldn't find anything
interesting on TV.

Its not entitlement to except what you pay for to do more than a BASIC SMARTPHONE... Anyway I have been trying to get into the preview program but I don't have many friends and wish it were easier to get in. I already do testing for Microsoft so It would

Wait... are you saying I can hook up my HDTV, SS system, external HDD, use my elite controller and play all the games I'm playing now on a basic smart phone!? Wow! I have to go re-read my phone's manual or something... apparently I'm missing out on a ****

Yet we still have several posts here complaining that they were removed. Some people seem to have a strange definition of the word "nobody".

It also seems the blind brand loyalty in this thread greatly outweighs any hint of entitlement.

it's nice to have options, but i won't miss the motion gestures, never used them and had to disable it while videos were streaming because it would mess with stream every time i was eating or stretched.

the dashboard is fast enough for me, i know the PS4 UI is faster, but it's such a small difference, it doesn't matter.

and lastly, the social part of the X1 is fine, it's not intrusive, and the Social Calendar is actually pretty cool.

 

I'm not sure how high on the agenda social features are... but they should be somewhere near the bottom IMO. The focus should be on gaming first... and then you can take your pick for priority after that.

I've said before that the NXOE pretty much ruined the context menu/app access of the last UI. I defy any MS employee to access their achievements faster, or record some gameplay faster, say three minutes, without a Kinect, on this new UI... with the old
one running next to it, kicking its ***.

It's almost like snapped apps are going to be jettisoned in future, as the new UI forgets what you had snapped, and it has no rapid access to previously snapped apps. If users get comfortable with pants access to the snap feature, maybe we won't mind when
they remove that too in a future update.

I don't use snap half as much as I used to. Because it's become a chore. Heh.

 

I thrive off of those social features! And while motion controls will be missed by some (including myself), they really weren't all that useful or intuitive for browsing the menu, so I can completely understand why they did it.

Oh, and I almost forgot - I don't have a smartphone... So, no, not everybody has what you have - feeling entitled yet? Because I can guarantee that, without a doubt, you most certainly are, whether you realize it or not.

My smartphone if they're still calendar that does more but it was more expensive than an X1 was at launch. Luckily it was part of my Christmas bonus from work.

At least the One still plays games like a boss. I love my system. Over 2 years later and I appreciate it more now than ever.
