Stop children from buying things on Xbox in one simple step!

So ive read a lot about children buying things like Vbucks (Fortnite) and spending £100’s and then not been successful in getting a refund. The answer to stop this instantly is to add a passcode to the xbox live account, you will need to use this passcode
to access settings etc and will not be able to purchase anything with out entering the passcode (using the xbox controller)

It takes 2-3 minutes to set a passcode up through your xbox console but will be weeks or months of headache trying to get the money back. Ive added a link below on how to add a passcode to the account.

You can also buy Xbox gift cards then no card will be on the account for the child or teenager to purchase digital items through the account been used. Keep one step ahead not two steps back, prevention is better than the cure!

Yes 100% agree. Too many parents not using correct accounts. If it is a family xbox then the adult account should be the only one with access to a credit/debit card. Added with a passcode.

Or be sure that childs use real child accounts that parents can always block specific things.

I think both options provided are really good ideas, some parents dont care if their children have adult accounts so the passcode is a really good solution while other who dont mind the limitations can have the account set as a child
