Stolen!!

I recently had my Xbox stolen along with my car. Yes I understand support is just for Xbox support and not for Stolen goods.... but, how come Xbox is able to track an Xbox subscription token by inputting the 25 digit code and find out which console has redeemed
it? Also, exactly where that person lives! Why can't you look up an Xbox SSID # and look at its current activity and or determine its location? I consider my issue a type of support issue. I find it BS that Xbox isn't able to locate (where they are) my console
and contact the local authorities with some information helping their customers out to the fullest (which they say they do)

They can locate it if they really wanted to but that's not their policy.

Now if there was for example a murder involved in addition to the theft then the feds would get involved and request they trace it.

You leaving your car unlocked with a Xbox in it (or whatever happened to you) doesn't count.

 

You can contact Microsoft and your local police department and submit the console's serial number to them. There is a possibility the police can get a warrant or something to check Microsoft's tracking records of the console's login history, however the
legal process works.

You will need proof of ownership, like the receipt, box, and etc to get the paperwork rolling -- I don't doubt that the police aren't going too immediately schedule a full-on investigation for a stolen Xbox unless if there's some super-hard evidence.

Change your account password too, you don't want the thief to have access to your games and other data.

 

So your car and your Xbox was stolen... and your worried about where your Xbox is? And people think I'm kwazy...

 

If you're Xbox gets stolen, report it to the police and Xbox Support. Depending on which country you live in, the police since they are government may even order Microsoft to help or track it. If you have the serial number of your console, report that to
Xbox Support so that next time it tries to log into Xbox Live, the missing/stolen console will immediately get banned from connecting to the servers. But yes this is an area of customer service which Microsoft needs to consider working on, tracking consoles.
Rather than waiting till they get a request from the victim's government.
