There he can see a map with the last login attempts and the IP address where your brothers account signed in. Record the time when the person signed in with your brothers account and the IP address.

Take this information to the police, as they can then ask the internet provider who owned the IP at the time.

However, be aware that this might not necessarily be the thief, as thieves usually don't use stolen items for themselves, but instead sell them to pawn shops.

So the person signing in your brother's profile might just be an "innocent" person that bought a "used" console from a shop, not knowing that it was a stolen console.

However, with the IP information, the time of the login and the map, the police should be able to get to your stolen console.

I don't believe so, there is no "where's my console" app. Your brother should log in and change his password and security info. So should you if you haven't.

I was always under the impression that stolen xboxs can have their online function deactivated and be banned from xbox live? Is this no longer the case now. Terrible that theves can just get away with using stolen goods i know playstation would stop this but microsoft not doing this is surprising. If we changethe password will the games on his account stop being functional? I want to stop the games being used on that xbox forever.

Also is there no way to completely remotely remove an account from a stolen xbox now? Thats seems ridiculous in this day and age. I am worried by just changing the password that the games will still be playable etc.

Well this is my son's account. His Xbox was stolen and it seems no body could do anything for us. It seems that Xbox would have done something to be able to find these stolen devices.
