Stock Xbox One S Controller Issues

I bought a One S two weeks ago and I love it but I'm having a couple of problems with my stock one s controller that came with the console.

The first being that no matter what combination of headsets, headphones, or audio adapters I connect to the controller I always seem to hear intermittent clicking and popping interference sounds during gameplay.

Second, the A button does not work on every 5th press or so and must be pressed relatively hard to make it work.

The controller has been doing these things since day one and I'm just wondering if it is covered under warranty and worth sending in or if these are common symptoms of the stock controller and I would be better off buying a new controller.

Controller disconnects

Same problem here.. Xb1 S controller randomly disconnects, original xbox one controller has no issues with xb1 S console...

Yes, controllers and other Xbox accessories have a 90 day manufacturer’s warranty from purchase date. You can send it in to Microsoft for repair, or they’ll just get it replaced for you.

Before you do any of that, first try
updating the firmware of your controller. See if that helps with anything. After that, perform a
power cycle on your console. See if that helps anything. Another thing you can do is to eliminate any physical obstructions and other objects between your controller and the console - these things could cause
interference, especially with headset audio.

If the controller continues to give you the same problems, the next step is to see if you can return the entire system back to the store you bought it from for exchange for another unit. This will be the quickest way to replace your controller. Check the
return policy on your receipt.

If you can’t do that, then your last option is to send it in to Microsoft for repair.
Set up a repair (for stock controllers, I believe you only need to register your console’s serial number), and you should be provided instructions on how to mail it to them. If you need additional
assistance with setting up a repair, contact Xbox Support (choose phone or chat).

standard xbox one controllers have been replaced with the series s/x controllers that work with all xbox one consoles and the new series s and x and even pc. they are readily in stock all over the uk, try argos.

Take a look at Argos yourself, the official Xbox series x/s controller is unavailable on argos as well. London, manchester, not a single store with stock

ok so I got my xbox for Christmas so my controller warranty will expire on March 25, and since that is my only one, I will wait to buy a new controller and then ship the old one for a replacement. As far as the packing instructions go, it didn't say anything
about a shipping label, just to write the service request number (which I have) and ship it to microsoft. I hope these instructions are correct.

I did not see any information about a price for the replacement, just asking for the serial number and filling out my personal information. So is there going to be a charge?
