Still no surround sound fix

There are continuous audio problem threads with no solutions. I posted one about the surround sound not working, which is happening to most people with a receiver. It is utterly ridiculous to call yourself next gen without the capability of surround sound.
Xbox one needed another 6 months to a year of development before release but Sony was just too fast for them. Now we the consumers have to pay the price, and to someone that WAS watching their TV and Netflix through the Xboxone, surround sound is critical.
I feel scammed.

no fix still...sigh. I am very annoyed at this, and the lack of surround sound being passed through from the PC.

 

Xbox video store - no surround sound

All the movies list only English audio and no surround sound. I know they used to advertise surround sound. Does anyone know if the movies still have surround sound? even my purchased movies don't show surround sound. No DTS or Dolby

 

The surround sound only out puts the front left and front right speakers even though my receiver says it is outputting to all. It worked before when you had the "beta" box in the settings but now that it is gone I can not get the sound to work.

 

Have you checked your hdmi cord? I had the problem and it turned out to be my hdmi cord.

 

It sounds like you've either got something plugged in wrong or need to change something in your settings. I have a 7.1 channel surround sound system and it's worked fine since day one. I would review your settings, make sure you have everything plugged
in correctly and maybe try restoring your system to factory defaults if that doesn't work.

 

I am having the same issue. I know it isn't a problem with my hdmi cable or my center speaker because surround sound seems to work when playing xbox one games. However once I try to watch tv, or an app like Netflix, I get no surround. I bought this system
over the PS4 because they advertised it more as a multimedia system and not just a gaming console.

I do want to note that surround sound WAS working at one point, so I'm guessing this issue is due to one of the software updates since no other changes have been made to the system.

I find it extremely frustrating that they promote and sell this system as the "all-in-one", new generation console, that is "built for the future"... Investors like "the future", I get it, but consumers want entertainment when they purchase the system, and
the fact that it can't handle current surround sound technology that was introduced years ago says a lot about what their priorities are.

 

Ok, I just spoke to MS support rep... I'm using XBO with Bose Lifestyle v35. We were able to solve the issue by turning the XBO off for 10 seconds, then unplugged all the cables from bose, and xbo. Waited 1 minute, and plugged all the cables back in. Booted
up XBO and surround sound is working again. Hope this helps.

 

Mine is doing the same thing worked for a bit after turning off unplugging everything and re plugging back in but went right back to basic stereo

 

This worked for me goto your settings then display & sound then change your tv connection to HDMI instead of Auto Detect fixed everything right up

 

I could use some help with this as well. Surround works fine on blurray and games but when watching TV I only get sound from the 2 front speakers.

Go into the audio settings of the xbox one and put the output on bitstream out
