Still having problem with Mahjong Daily Challenges

I'm running Windows 8.1, Version 6.3, Build 9600 on a custom PC (Using and Asus Sabretooth motherboard and an AMD 8350 chip).

I tried to apply your fix. I reset the Windows Store Cache, went to the store, got the charms menu up and selected update. Non-Windows apps updated, but nothing happened with the Mahjong. When I went to restart the option was update and restart - with
one update - so I thought it did install, but I get the same result.

On the 3rd I could access 2 challenges, on the 4th 1, on the 5th all three, and since then only 2 challenges each day. When I choose the third (I usually go from hard to easy) the icon rotates for about 20 seconds, then the app closes and I'm on the desktop.

Any suggestions?

Problem With Microsoft Mahjong Daily Challenge

Hi I am in Greece and I too am having the same problem with Mahjong daily challenges.

Also having same problem when with windows 8 try to access daily challenge for Mahjong

 

What's your Mahjong version number? 1.8.0.31031 and 2.1.1312.2412 will both hang on the challenges that many users are posting about, but version 2.2.1401.2307 works, or at least it does with my hardware and localization.

 

Hi Mary! It may be that you need to either take a Windows Update that you haven't taken yet or reset your store cache.

Try this:

1. Press the Windows key
2. Type in Windows Update
3. Under the search bar you see on the right, choose Check for Updates
4. In the Windows Update screen, press the Check Now button
5. Even if it doesn't seem to find any updates, click on View Details
6. Install any updates you see that haven't been installed- including optional ones
   
7. Restart using the restart option from the shut down menu.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that you use the "restart" option from the shut down menu because Sleep or Shutdown WILL NOT restart your Windows session and apply these updates.

If that still does not work, try this:

1. Press Windows Key + R
2. In the box, type wsreset.exe and press Enter
3. This will relaunch the Windows Store
4. Hover over the right-hand side to bring up the charm bar
5. Choose Settings
6. Choose App Updates

You should see the update for Mahjong now.

Helen, although I am set to automatically update, there WAS a win 8.1 update I had to install. I can now play all the challenges! (interesting note - the one for 2/8 - I played the one on the left - the easy challenge - and when I completed it I received
credit for all three!!!

Sigh.
