I have the same issue - can’t play any disc based backwards compatible games (360 or classic Xbox) on either my new Xbox Series X or my Xbox One X. I was also advised that it is a known problem and with engineers to resolve but that was a month ago and still unresolved unfortunately.

Yea this sucks. This thread needs more attention. I’ve been waiting months to play a game. Lol defeats the purpose.

Whenever I launch an xbox 360 game on the xbox one x my party chat is not allowing me to talk with my friends. My friend has the same issue.

Is this without the other players being on 360? Ive found that same issue when playing on the 360 and having friends still playing One games. But ive never had this issue with others on the 360 as well. Try it with everyone once your in the 360 mode
and then party up. Thats what worked for me.

The Xbox One consoles are now last gen, so apart from a few new games, most of them are now only for the Xbox Series consoles. If you want to play those games on console, then you will need a new console. There is nothing to say you have to trash your Xbox One console. I still use my Xbox 360, Xbox One & Xbox Series X. They all still work, and all play their games perfectly fine.
