Stick drift out the box

Discus and support Stick drift out the box in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Is there anything being done about the stick drift on all the controllers?     Is there anything being done about the stick drift on all the controllers? Or has anyone figured out a solution yet? I only have a couple controllers but its taken several returns to get one that worked properly, but only for a few months in which
    im forced to deal with a constantly moving pov or pay again and again. It's a crummy situation to always have to deal with. Are there any off brand versions anyone has found to last longer? Is a general problem with other console's controllers as well or just
    the xbox one controller?

    If you are having problems with stick drift I recommend calling Microsoft to check the controller(s) warranty status and scheduling a repair.

    I have heard complaints about other console's controllers as well, so unfortunately it seems that controllers do wear out. Even faster if you are an aggressive gamer or play games that require constant use of certain parts of the controller. In regards
    to the stick drift right out of the box, I would suggest to first update the firmware of the controller.

    1. Press the Xbox button
       to open the guide.
    2. Under Profile & system, select
      Settings      .
    3. Under Devices & streaming, select
      Accessories.
    4. On the Xbox Wireless Controller screen, select “…” to check the firmware version for your controller.
    5. If it says there’s no update available, your controller is current. If it says “Update,” follow the steps provided.
    If that doesn't help and if the controller is under warranty, then you can request a replacement. https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/controller/controller-warranty

    I will try the not moving the controller during power up, i am usually on the move with it while the console is powering on. As for the controllers, im opening a new box >update firmware> start first game = drifting. I know i can exchange it, the bigger
    issue is the having to repack everything up to return, wait for them to get it, then wait for them to send new one, then rinse and repeat 3 times. That whole time all i have is the other slightly older controller that has the same problem.

    The controllers have been updated prior to playing first game, but once it's updated and i start to play, its already drifting across the screen.

    If you are going through several controllers and having the same problem, maybe look into if there is anything in your situation that is making them develop the same fault. Not to accuse you or anything, but are you being particularly rough with them?

    Also, I think controllers configure when they power on. make sure you are't doing anything to the controls when turning on or booting a game

    Also the controller FAQ suggests updating the firmware if you have trouble, dunno if you've tried that
