Stick deadzones on new xbox elite series 2 controller

Hello,

I bought a new xbox elite series 2 controller and I'm not sure if I have a defective one.

I noticed a deadzone on the sticks, here it a youtube movie

On standard controller deadzone is minimal, on elite series 2 is much larger, the differences are huge in my opinion. In normal play does not affect the gameplay, but as I reduce sensitivity, you can see drifting.

I see alot of movies on youtube with same deadzone on sticks problem, so my question is, is this normal thing, or I just should send it to get new one ?

If the controller has drifting, then it's faulty. If you have only just got it, then sending it back and getting a new one or a refund is the best course of action, otherwise it will need to be sent to Microsoft for repair/replacement.

So if I want my elite to feel simular to my xbox series s controller I should set it's deadzone to 3

The standard Series X controller has a default stick tension that is not adjustable. However, the Elite Series 2 controller has adjustable stick tension with three different settings as you mentioned in your question. Deadzones aren't really intended to fix stick drift. Stick drift is a fault that needs repairing.

And the customisation is another reason to buy the Elite. They need to make it different from the standard controller.

Yeah im on my second one now in less than a week same problem stick drift on the right playing apex..... this controller is being promoted along side this game so if you have to set your deadzone to large playing in linear which apparently is specifically
for elite controllers whats the point? Rule of thumb if you have to use a large deadzone its time for a new controller! Both lot 1945.
