I have already read the support web site. But... the support web site said '' If the mute light comes on and you have updated your controller but your headset isn't working, consult the manual or manufacturer. '' The manufacturer is xobox...

After, I have call the support at phone and the guy said '' do a update with your controller on your pc. I have already do. '' Thank xbox support...

My Headphone work and my controller is new.

Now the support at phone is close...

Hey Scott! By the sounds of it when you pulled it out and it bent you could have damaged something may we know what you use to plug your headset into? Stero adapter or headphone jack?

So i am having trouble finding the stero headset adapter. Do you happen to have a link of where i could purchase one? Also to note we have the xbox one s controllers. They already have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Is the adapter still needed?

Hello Ultan,

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. When you update the controller do you have the headset plugged in at the same time? Even running the update when there isn't one sometimes fixes minor issues. Also this is a well known issue, especially after
updates for the console. You can try these steps:

1.) power cycle console

2.)Go to settings> Kinect and Devices> Devices and Accessories> [...]> Assign controller to account> Update control> unassign account> test headset/chat

3.)Make sure mic is "ON" Press the home button> go to the Gear on the
menu> Audio> Turn Mic off and on. OR go to settings> Kinect and Devices> Devices and Accessories> [...]>Audio> Mic on> Adjust volume.

4.)You can test your controller if it is broken by "Buzzing" the controller. The buzz feature is connected to the headset port, and if the controller does not buzz then the port may be damaged.
[Turning on Vibration if it does not "Buzz"> Settings> Ease of Access>
Controller> Vibration Settings> Turn on Vibration].

5.)Some mics are detachable and may be damaged so try testing the headset on another device to see if it works (Example: windows 10.

Test the Headset with Skype Test or Voice Recorder). If there is an issue with using the headset on an Xbox controller, you can try using a headset adaptor.

6.) Make sure there is no Enforcement on the account.

7.) Make sure the controller is not full of dust in the headset port (you can use compressed air to clear the dust).

8..) Make sure controller is fully charged/ change battery type.

9.) Use a headset adapter or standard headphones (Main fix)

10) Soft or full console reset. (may not work all the time)

Hey

There could be a lot of reasons causing that issue. You will want too troubleshoot the issue. For example

Are you using the stero adapter with the headset or just pluging right into the controller 3.5mm jack? If your using the adapter is possable its faluty

Try the headset on a other controller if it works then its likley the other controller auido port isnt working

Try the headset on a other device such has a PC or phone if the headset to test the headset

Also make sure your controller is updated
