  1. Sterio Headset adapter issues (Controller(s) refuses to update after trying everything)

Bought my Sterio Headset Adapter for my TB x32's and when I go to update my controller, it keeps saying, "There was a problem updating your controller"

Now I tried all the troubleshooting steps from using a different usb cable, I used other usb ports, different controllers, and even power cycled my xbox multple times.

Now here is the weird part, When I try to do the update without the adapter plugged in, it says it succeeded but whenever I plugged the adapter back in, it still prompts me to update it. I can hear game audio and can hear my friends voice chat perfectly
but they say my voice is too loud and has lot of static to it.

Is it my controller or the adapter that is causing this?

    :)

    Xbox One Controller Update

Found out something interesting today. I got the titanfall turtle beach headset and did the controller update. After the update every time I plugged in the headset audio adapter it would turn off my controller and unsung it from the xbone. After trying everything
the tech suggested including trying to reupdating the controller (didn't work cause the xbone recognized it as already being updated, or so I thought) I decided to go to gamestop and switch out the headset for a new one. Wasn't expecting much. Strange thing
is that when I plugged in the new adapter it prompted me to do the update again. Went through the process and everything ended up working fine. This brings up an interesting couple questions. Was the adapter defective or was the update corrupt? The really
interesting thing is that it seems the controller update wasn't what was being updated but in fact it was the audio adapter that was being updated. T

  3. XBOX ONE Stereo Headset Static Problem....

I got my Headset / adapter on the 2/26/2014, from MS store. An after March 5, console update, and updating my controller. everything is working fine, great sound to the headset. Support is telling you March 7, because the MS Store, stop shipping them until
March 7, because of the update for the controller was not out. If your console is updated, with March 5 update, then you have the controller update too.

Controller Update for Stereo Headset Adapter Fails

Just bought a brand new titanfall edition controller and had the same problem. The controller refused to update with the xbox stereo headset hooked up. Looks like it's the headset/adapter that is the problem. I'm going to return the headset and try a different
    one.

Issues Updating Controller with Turtle Beach X07 Headset

    Hi Sleepy,

I can update no problem with out the stereo headset adapter. Once you plug the headset adapter in it states there's an update for your controller (this on both controllers). The update specifies to leave any headset attached for the update. The update then
fails after 2-3 attempts. Mine actually got to 91% last night.

Everything points to either a bad headset adapter or bad drivers/firmware from Microsoft

Specific headset does not work with specific controller. Help?

No problem, I don't believe its your headset at this point. It sounds more like the controller having the issue with recognizing the attached headset since you confirmed the older controller does indeed work just fine with this headset.

A few things you can try with the controller that is giving you issues.

    • The auto-detect feature of this update may not work immediately if you plugged your stereo headset adapter into the controller while downloading a system update, or while the console was turned off. To resolve this, go to the Home screen and unplug the
adapter. Then, re-plug the adapter into the controller.
    • You only need to update your controller one time to use the stereo headset adapter. However, if you plan to use the stereo headset adapter with other Xbox One controllers, you’ll need to follow this process for each controller. Additionally, check for new
updates periodically as Xbox frequently ships new controller features and improvements.
    • If you try to update a controller that was already updated, the system will check the controller and proceed to the success screen within a few seconds to indicate that it’s already updated.

That way we can rule out trying to re-update the controller without the headset plugged in. Then update the controller, and after its complete, try to the headset again.

Controller updated still asks me to update

When you did the controller update was the adapter and headset connected to the controller?

If they aren't the controller still 'updates' but not properly.

I got the XO4's and forgot to attach the headset when i did the update the first time and had a similar problem, but it resolved when I did it properly with everything attached.
