  1. Stereo sound from satellite speakers

I have my xbox one connected directly to a vizio sound bar via optical. It's the 42 inch sound bar with sattelite speakers and wireless subwoofer. My audio settings are hdmi - off, optical audio - bitstream out, bitstream format - dolby digital.

Surround works great when I'm running anything that supports 5.1: blurays, games, netflix. When I run anything that outputs only stereo, such as youtube or hulu, I get no sound at all from my settelite speakers. I have to go into settings and change the
optical audio to stereo uncompressed to get those speakers to work.

This is an annoying work around. Is this the way it is has to work, or am I doing something wrong? Any recommendations on changes I could make? Thanks

    :)

    Please help! Audio problems!

It's more likely the settings for audio channels. Stereo, 5.1, 7.1. Make sure that is on stereo, and check for a similar setting in game. If you only have two speakers, for example a standard tv set, the dialogue is sent to speakers that aren't there. Setting
it to stereo sends all sounds to your tv's speakers.

    Surround Sound Not Working

I have connected my Xbox One to my Marrantz NR 1504 AV receiver in the AVR HDMI IN, which in turn in connected to my TV through its HDMI out. My AVR is connected to Boston Acoustics XS 5.1. I have selected 5.1 uncompressed in the Xbox one HDMI sound setting.
I have read on other forums that Uncompressed PCM is the best for best quality sound. With this setup, I get only "Multi Channel IN" and "Multi Channel Stereo "sound options on my AVR. If I select Multi Channel IN, I get sound only from the FL, FR, Centre
and Sub. The surround speakers don't output any sound (constant static). If I select Multi Channel Stereo, I get sound from all speakers, but this is stereo sound, with all sounds coming from all speakers. I do not want this, I want proper 5.1 surround sound.
How can I set it up?? Please help.

  4. Stereo sound from satellite speakers

To everyone out there with any kind of surround sound setup: do your satellite speakers kick out sound when playing media not output in 5.1? I'm wondering if it's a limitation of my soundbar or the xbox. Thanks

Yes I can confirm this - Xbox output is 5.1 where only the 2 front speakers have sound. Thats no issue of your soundbar.

    Greetings

    Some sound/music playing in mono?

Oh and when I say mono i dont mean that sound only comes from one speaker but that the music lacks stereo so that it is entirely same from both speakers.

    HELP PLEASE READ!!

To hook up the sound you need a stereo female RCA to male 3.5mm cable

    1. Unplug your speakers from your computer. ( If you do not know what the speaker cable looks like, it is green)

    2. Take out your stereo female RCA to male 3.5mm

    3. Plug the RED & WHITE plugs on the VGA cable into the stereo female RCA to male 3.5mm

    4. Plug the speaker plug ( green plug ) into the stereo female RCA to male 3.5mm

    And you are done!
