    Stereo sound for Xbox One


    When I had an Xbox 360, I used a 4 channel switch box to connect it to my stereo, which is an old Aiwa stereo (still works very well). I've since traded in my 360 console for an Xbox One, and because it's HDMI I'm not able to use the switch box for stereo
    sound with it (no HDMI ports...it's fairly old).

    Does anyone know if there's a switch box that not only has HDMI ports, but standard A/V ports, also? I've tried looking for one, with no luck...it's either one or the other. I have no issues using HDMI, but I also have a Nintendo Wii, a Playstation 2, and
    a standard DVD player I connect to my stereo for sound, so I'd need something that caters to all of them.

    What would I need to solve this, if possible? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I hate to tell you this but the Xbox One console does not transmit game sounds or music through the Xbox One Chat Headset. If you're looking for an Xbox One headset that provides both game and chat audio, you should be
    getting yourself an Xbox One Stereo Headset.

    Xbox One Stereo Headset and Surround Sound

    Hi, I was juat wondering if the Xbox One Stereo Headset will stay true to it's name and only be "stereo" or if surround sound will ever be included. I really want a surround sound headset and these are a good price but i was disappinted to hear they were
    only in stereo sound as I want to know which direction sound comes from.

    Stereo sound for Xbox One

    There are a few options to get audio output to RCA (red & white) speakers with the Xbox One.

    - If your HDTV has an audio output port for external speakers, usually in the form of a 3.5mm jack or separate RCA outputs, you can configure your TV to disable the built-in speakers and output all audio to what's connected to that output.

    - Xbox One has an optical port for digital audio output. Personally, that's how I get my audio going to my soundbar. If your speaker system has an optical port, you might be in luck.

    - There are various, specialized adapters you can get online, like HDMI-in to HDMI-out (video) + RCA (audio).

    If you are talking about the Chat headset, that comes with Xbox One, then No. If you are talking about Stereo Headset, with an Stereo Headset Adapter. then Yes. Using the Stereo Headset Adapter give to both Chat and Game sound to the headset. If you TV,
    is connected to the Xbox, your TV sound, will go to the headset.

    will produce sound from the xbox one controller to the xbox one stereo adapter which the headphones will allow you to plug the XBox Headphones in and hear sound and chat with the mic.

    watch the video in the link above. At the end it shows the adapter, and the cord on the headphones that you would plug in.

    O think no the reason why their are no official surround sound headsets is because the spdif currently doesn't support surround sound, only stereo. Be a bit of a waste (and a possible legal nightmare) to release surround sound headsets, if the Xbox One
    can currently in not do stereo.

    If I understand your question...

    Q: If you buy the Stereo Adapter, will this allow you to hear sound.

    A: Yes, the stereo adapter will allow you to plug in headphones to hear sound. I omitted the headset that comes with the adapter just in case you already have headphones.

    (The Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter lets you plug a compatible chat or stereo headset into the Xbox One Controller to control your audio experience without taking your hands off the controller.)

    The adapter will work with many existing headphones, but you can opt to buy the Xbox Headphones (w/Mic) and adapter too
