  1. Stereo Headset Audio Crackling & Lock up's

I've been experiencing terrible audio crackling lately, well actually ever since owning my stereo adapter. This issue isn't so bad until I start snapping apps, that is when it becomes unbearable. I've ignored it until now and moved on but I love it quite
a bit (when it works) and now with it being built directly into the controllers I thought it might of been fixed (if it was hardware related issue with the adapter) but it hasn't.

I've tried using the new controller (with 3.5mm port) both with and without adapter, the old controller, different headsets, plugging the controllers in (charging) while using the port/adapter. Both controllers were updated to the latest firmware with batteries
charged, within less than 10 feet of the Xbox and firmly plugged in. The headset itself works just fine on other devices.

Yet this is the audio that I'm getting from my headset, please listen to this to understand what I'm dealing with. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-Oiqfh6qsDrSkVrUmswekZfU28/view?usp=sharing

This audio your hearing here is what happens when it starts crackling while charging (cable plugged in) causing a loud repeating sound, locking up essentially. I have to unplug and replug the headset to fix it. I also unplugged the cable and went wireless,
you'll notice it crackles alot more then but doesn't cause that horrible repeating sound (0:45-1:25). Also sometimes when using the adapter it locks up to the point that I have to unplug and replug it instead of the headset.

I've even tried plugging the controllers up to a Windows 10 PC, which works just fine. Unless I'm streaming from Xbox to PC then the crackling still happens but no were near as bad as being connected directly to the Xbox, it also doesn't lead to lock ups.

While connected to the Windows 10 PC (not streaming the Xbox), I had zero crackling issues but did have a rare static pop (barely noticeable). Again I tested this multiple ways, same as above.

Whats going on here and what should I do? Also before any of you start suggesting a repair, the warranty is out on my console and based on the amount of people I've seen also experiencing this issue from reddit, feedback.xbox.com, and the previously locked
thread here on these forums. It makes me think that a repair isn't going to fix it anyways.

and yes, I am in the preview program and have reported the issue multiple times now.

    :)

Same issue as everybody else.. distinct crackling sounds can be heard after a few minutes of playing any game. Unplugging it resolves the issue for 5-10 minutes which gives me hope that it's some kind of glitch that can be fixed but it's been months of this
being a well known issue and still no fix or even an acknowledgement from MS that they're trying to do something about it. Very frustrating. How do they release the adapter with such an obvious flaw? Do they not have a testing department?

I just had a good chat with support, who said it was a documented issue, i gave them my situation we chatted about having the xbox one on a surge protector which she stated helped. i explained i had it on a 1500va UPS with AVR and PFC, which makes it pretty
much the cleanest most stable power you can get even better then a wall outlet.

She offered a replacement, i expressed i already returned one and had the same issue, And that i was positive it was a firmware flaw or a low level hardware flaw that affected all of the stereo adapters, and how it was solved temporarily by unplugging and
    plugging the headset back in.

I also expressed it happened on multiple headsets that all worked fine for hours on other devices such as android and apple devices.

She stated she was passing all the information on to their engineering team who is actively looking into this issue with my contact information. So we will see what comes of this.

Definitely seems like a rather annoying issue which I haven't experienced myself. Just out of curiosity though, are you using the Kinect as a Microphone as well? If you are I'd recommend turning that off or temporarily disconnecting it as a test. Based on
the audio sample you provided it almost sounds like an interference issue at first and then the 0:45 sounds like a scenario where the Kinect is being used as a Microphone with the TV volume too loud causing it to pick it up and repeat.

    Xbox Series S crackling audio

One "fix" I found it "works" is chaging the out output to mono. It stops the crackling sounds, but the audio quality is compromised.
i dont know if this is still going but i just ran into this problem with my headset and i changed hdmi audio to "stereo uncompressed" same with headset format audio and now it is crystal clear!

This solved the problem for me too.

It seems like Windows Sonic (at least for Headphones) has a bug that causes popping/crackling sounds, which are way more obvious when playing backwards compatible games.

In my case Kameo was annoying me with pops and crackles, almost like the audio is being clipped. Turning off Windows Sonic and swapping to Stereo Uncompressed solved the problem.

If we could set the audio on a game by game, or even platform by platform (360/One/X) basis then it would help. It's not convenient having to turn it on and off when switching between games.
