Stereo Headset and Adapter Issues

Here is something weird. I held down the button that looks like the controller (on the headset adapter) and my headset stopped having low glitchy volume. It now gets loud and super clear. But now the controller and chat buttons turn the game volume up and
down just like the right side buttons do. I can't adjust chat volume at all. This hasn't worked for chat since I bought it. I'm about to try a hard reset and see what happens. I'll report findings soon.

 

Okay I think I've got my issue sorted now. I misunderstood how the chat adapter works. The right side buttons are for overall volume and left side are game/chat blend. Turns out I can't chat because I have faulty Mic! Return it tomorrow for a new one. So
glad I got this sorted!

 

Same exact problem so I thought it was the controller and so I bought a new one and hoping it wouldn't happen again. Sadly I was wrong.. still disconnects me during gameplay and makes that buzzing noise.. I hope they find a fix so or something.. this is
getting frustrating.. i'll be in a battle with a titan and get disconnected and obviously lose cause I'm defenseless...

 

I am having the same problem as demonj00, i get no voice chat in multi player games. I can controls the in game sounds perfectly

 

Yeah, I'm having this exact same problem with my XO4s too. Absolutely brutal to drop out due to controller disconnects like seven times in one titanfall match. Argh!!!

 

@demonj00 interested to know if your replacements give you better mic volume, please report back when you do

 

As you can see in previous posts, I was having the controller freeze issues consistently.

I decided to just return my XO Sevens for a new pair and I have not had any problems at all for the past 2 nights, aside from audio dipping in and out sometimes.

I'm pretty sure this issue is being caused by faulty adapters. All you can do is keep returning the headsets until you get an adapter that works.

Now I can just complain about the fact that there is no mic monitoring and still somewhat enjoy gaming without my controller locking up every 20 minutes!

 

To the people having chat problems, make sure you have the chat/game audio ratio balanced out. It seems some people are not understanding how the volume controls work. I know it took me a while to figure out and I had to end up looking online to figure it
out.

If you have game chat volume turned down all the way, you will have the game audio turned up all the way and vice versa.

So the left side on the adapter sets the ratio, there are about 15 clicks before you max out either way. Once you have your ratio set, the "+/- "on the right is what turns up overall volume according to the ratio you have set between game and chat.

I just max out chat by hitting the little person chat button until I hear beeping, then I go up about 7 clicks on the controller icon for the game audio - that way I am at about 50/50...

Got the XO Seven (comes with the headset adapter). Game sound works fine (minor, momentary dropouts every now and then, but that's rare and not a huge issue for me), but it's not working for chat at all. Put in a replacement order. Hopefully the new one
will work better.

 

Correction: Chat works on two of my four controllers, but not the other two. Dafuq?

 

My controller has been "crashing" and disconnecting since I applied the controller firmware update when I got my Official Stereo Headset and Official Stereo Headset Adaptor on Friday. My Xbox One was in the Preview Programme, and I had already previously
updated the controller during that, yet had to update it again when I got the headset and adaptor on Friday.

I can play Titanfall for around two hours with the adaptor and headset connected, and then I'll get an awful noise through the headset and the Xbox One will tell me the controller has been disconnected even though the light on it is still on.

I have to take the battery out of the controller and put it back in to be able to get it to come back on and reconnect.

I have tried going to Advanced Network settings and selecting to "Clear" the "Alternate MAC address" as mentioned in a post on here somewhere, and have also tried power cycling the console. Neither has helped.

Xbox Support on Twitter first claimed it didn't sound related to the controller update, even though it never happened before the controller firmware update and even though I provided them with links for various threads about it here at Xbox.com along with
Tweets from The Verge's Tom Warren who's suffering the same problem.

They now suggest cutting power at the wall for 5 minutes and re-syncing, which tbh I doubt will be any help at all.

 

@Tez, I was having the same issues. As I mentioned in previous posts, I took my headset back and got a new one, mostly just to try a new adapter. Since I got my new headset and adapter, I haven't had any controller lock up issues and I have played 3 nights
without any problems.

Pretty sure you have one of the many bad adapters out there.

 

BUMP on this thread. I have a lot of disconnecting controller issues too. I received my adapter from Polk with my new 4 Shot. Should I contact Polk for a replacement?

 

I was having these same issues with the XO Fours, brought them back and got the XO Sevens and I haven't been having any issues really. Although, I keep my controller charging every night now while I sleep due to the controller going dead (even though it's
not dead, it just says it is).

 

Im having issues as well i have xo seven and ever since i plugged in that adapter my controller either freezes or stops working completely after switching from being plugged in to being wireless.
