Stereo headset adapter to use with my xbox one and turtle beach x12

Hi, I bought the adapter today to use with my turtle beach headset and now I'm caught in a crossroads with it all. I'm wondering is there any help that anyone can give me to allow chat and have the sound in my headset as previous with my xbox 360. I'd
appreciate the help as I don't want to keep family member up with game sounds anymore. Just to let you know my tv is a sumsung 40 inch led of that helps at all. Thankyou.

No chat on turtle beach x12 headset with headset adapter.

I want to use my old turtle beach x12 headset, so i bought the stereo headset adapter.

Because i want use the chat function of my x12.

I have done the update on my controller.

But the chat function on the headset is not working, i can hear myself but no one else can.

No problem with the game sound, that does work.

Can anybody help me

Try updating the controller a few times, don't know why but my controller took three updates to get the Turtle Beach X12 headset to work correctly. Link below gives you a guide on how to do this:

Have yet to be able to get my hands on the adapter myself, but this is supposed to be a feature of the new adapter as I understand it.

If you have not done so yet, update the firmware of your controller. Connect the adapter and headset to your controller, and also connect the usb cable to the controller so it is wired to the console. Once you've done that update the controllers firmware.
On the console go to Settings>System>Update Controller.

 

Cheers for the reply I've done the update on both of my controllers and plugged the USB in the console,

Only problem is I have the mic and sound wires which are currently dangling free, that the situation I'm left with at this moment in time.

 

You say mic and sound wires. Do you mean you have 2 separate 3.5 mm plugs for your headset, 1 for mic, and 1 for the stereo headphone speakers?

If that is the case you may need to get an adapter to combine the channels into 1 3.5 mm plug.

Think the problem is the 3.5mm adapter itself.

I got a blackberry cheapo earset from a phone and that works on the adapter, the microphone from the tb doesn't.

Comparing both it looks like the 3.5mm connector has an additional ring around it on the cheapo headset so assuming this is how the adapter separates it.

Wondering if one of those 3.5mm adapters would work converting the plug but don't fancy having that hanging out too.

Also if his problem is having a headset with 2 separate 3.5 mm plugs for the mic and speakers, the problem doesn't really lie in the xbox one headset adapter. It is made to take a single plug with combined mic/speaker channels like the old 360 headset and
many hands free headsets use.

To resolve that, he would just need an adapter like the one above to combine the 2 plugs into a single channel. I'm guessing by the way he described it, he has a PC headset that uses separate channels for a sound card.

 

yeah i ordered something similar too.

lucky i bought a usb extension to power the tb so at least i don't have to buy a headset specifically for an xb1 and 360.

the 3.5mm plug needs to have four zones; if it hasn't chances it will mute the kinect but not produce any sound via the microphone when plugged it.

 

Hi, I got the headphone adapter so I could use my turtle beach x12's. I installed the firmware, but I have extremely low audio. I checked all cables, they are fine. Anyone else having this problem? If so how did you fix it?

Hello again, apparently I did not have all the cables hooked up. The turtle beaches comes with a usb cable (which I never used) that can be plugged into the side of the xbox one. So problem solved….. I hate mondays lol

Sorry it took some time to reply as I've been working, I've plugged the USB in the back and it's working fine now but it's quite static at this moment but will work on it

 

Headset is working fine now cheer for all the support static was due to play and charge kit on the controller.

 

I have just set mine up, and my problem is the microphone on the X12s aren't working, no one can hear me, yet they work fine on my 360

 

I too am experiencing x12 and xb1 mic issues. Except, my mic works part of the time, mostly in the pre game lobby (COD Ghosts) but as soon as the game starts 98% of the time all I get is game audio, no team chat, no game chat, not even a mouse fart.....HELP!
