Stereo headset adapter problems with game sounds.

I bought the official headset adapter the other day and today I installed it. I have already updated my controller as well. I noticed a problem with the sound however. Some sounds, mainly "background" sounds, are extremely low. An example of this would be
game dialogue while I was playing Destiny and also the small noises when switching through tabs on the Xbox One menus. All other sounds, like the music and character actions, work fine. I am using Turtle Beach x12s with the DSS2 mixer. My sound output on my
Xbox One is currently set to Dolby Digital. Even when I turn it to uncompressed stereo the same problem still persists.

    :)

  2. Television Audio Through Xbox One Headset

If you are talking about the Chat headset, that comes with Xbox One, then No. If you are talking about Stereo Headset, with an Stereo Headset Adapter. then Yes. Using the Stereo Headset Adapter give to both Chat and Game sound to the headset. If you TV,
is connected to the Xbox, your TV sound, will go to the headset.

  3. Can I use a Xbox one sterio headset with a DVI converter?

    Hi Legend of RDG

    If I understand your question...

Q: If you buy the Stereo Adapter, will this allow you to hear sound.

A: Yes, the stereo adapter will allow you to plug in headphones to hear sound. I omitted the headset that comes with the adapter just in case you already have headphones.

(The Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter lets you plug a compatible chat or stereo headset into the Xbox One Controller to control your audio experience without taking your hands off the controller.)

The adapter will work with many existing headphones, but you can opt to buy the Xbox Headphones (w/Mic) and adapter too

    hi S2K CR,

Sorry that no one has responded by now.

For this specific sound concern let me make sure I'm reading this correctly.

    under Display &sound:

    -Digital Audio

-Optical Audio (should be set to Bitstream out) --> DTS Digital Sound

Sidenote: Make sure that there are not any firmware updates for the DSS2 mixer on the Turtle beach site.

Let me know what you find out

Oh dang I had given up on this post. Good thing I checked one more time before I took it off my bookmarks.

Minor correction: The optical audio is set to Dolby Digital. DTS Digital Sound gives me no sound at all.

Also, I was finally able to test my party chat the other day and I have problems with that too. There is immensely low audio and I can only hear the person if my entire house is silent and there's no other sound being made, and even then it's barely a whisper.
I have tried putting the chat volume to the highest setting, but I still got no results.

I couldn't find any firmware update on their site when I looked. Maybe I missed something though. If anybody finds it, it would really help me if you linked it here.

Thank you for your reply, NewBlackSmurf.

  6. Have you tried adjusting the master volume using the right + and - buttons.

On the left are the chat / audio mixer. The controller symbol turns up game and lowers chat.

The person icon turns up chat and lower games volume.

    or

the stereo adapter should be purchased from Turtlebeach adapter vs the microsoft stereo adapter

Px4 Headset, party voice not working

    Hi there...

    my first question...

    1. Have you updated the controller via USB while this headset is turned on and plugged into the stereo adapter?

    2. I dont have Turtle beach headset but maybe its worth asking TB support if you should use this adapter instead of the xbox one stereo adapter -

    www.turtlebeach.com/.../xbox-one-adapters

Sound (game only) should come in from the adapter wireless if you have connected the sound output correctly. It sounds like you have as it works, not plugged in.

Chat, is the only reason you are plugging in this into the stereo adapter so what I'm reading is that, when you plug in the headset, this is where the problem begins.

I see on the TB website that they are pointing everyone to "their" adapter.

Which adapter are you using? The Xbox One stereo adapter or the TB stereo adapter?

If its the Xbox One stereo adapter, I would suggest contacting TB support to understand the difference between the two.

Xbox One X - After update my controller dosen't detect any headset I plug in and there is no sound.

    Hi there,

What is the specific headset you are plugging into the adapter?

Headset's, headphones, or earbuds with stereo sound will have the ability to have game audio along with chat volume that is adjusted with the adapter or in the "Audio" settings that will only appear when plugging into the 3.5mm port which you have confirmed
was the issue with the original controller.

There are some headsets however that do not have stereo sound and are strictly only meant to chat with others, and are usually referred to as chat headsets. These tend to only have one earpiece whereas stereo headsets will have two.

If you have a stereo headset/headphones plugged into the adapter, then the chat mixer slider that is usually found in the "Audio" settings will be controlled on the adapter with the game controller icon button indicating the game audio volume and the button
with the icon of a person indicates the chat audio volume.
