Stereo Headset Adapter not un-muting

Hi

I am having issues with my Stereo headset adapter. I purchased the adapter the week they were released and it has worked fine until the last month. I got new carpet in my gaming room and had my console unplugged for about three days. It was stored safely
and nothing was beaten around or damaged. When I hooked everything up and booted the system again the adapter had the mute button lit up and it has not worked since. My chat mic that came with my console works completely fine. I have read online where this
same problem happening to others and the general fix is to go into devices in settings and update the controller manually again. When I go to settings it says "No update available" and when I click on it anyways it says "no updates needed" and "update another".
I tried restoring factory defaults, but it does not remove any updates to the console or controller so the ability to update the controller again is still not an option. I contacted 1-800-4my-xbox and spent a half an hour or so talking with a lady in customer
service. She told me to basically do what I already had. Try updating the controller manually again and restoring my Xbox to factory defaults, which by the way is a pain. All it seems to do really is erase my games which I have to reinstall taking hours and
no updates are removed. I have tried restoring my Xbox twice now and have randomly gone into devices countless times hoping the option to update magically appears. Her only other option after that was to purchase a new controller. I really don't want to and
do not understand why I would have to purchase a new controller when everything else works perfectly fine including the chat mic which uses the same port so I don't see the port being a problem. Nothing is damaged controller or adapter and the adapter still
fits snug and securely into the controller. Are there any other ways to fix this problem or to actually remove the updates from my hard drive to properly reinstall the controller update again?

I'm really sorry to hear you're having issues with your headset.

Here are a couple of steps that I would recommend trying for this particular case:

1. Take the batteries out of the controller
2. Ensure the Stereo Headset Adapter is connected to the controller when performing the controller firmware update and
   
   Update your Controller
3. After the firmware update is complete, hold the console power button for 10 seconds to successfully perform the power cycle

Stereo Headset Adapter Keeps Muting.

I have the stereo headset adapter and my Turtle Beach X11 headset plugged in and everything will be fine for a few hours to a few days and then all of a sudden the mute button will stay lit up and wont switch off. The only way to get rid of it is updating
the controller again.

I have changed the batteries about 6 times. (which it seems to eat very quickly)

I have updated the controller probably about 10 times now.

I can't tell if its the controller that isn't keeping the update or its the stereo headset adapter which is faulty either way its becoming a major pain having to keep updating the controller every cpl hours or days just to play a game.

 

Bump anyone have a solution for this? I think uninstalling the updates primarily the controller update and redoing them may fix the problem for me but have yet to find a way too. Is there anyway to uninstall updates?
