Stereo headset adapter no microphone

ive done the firmware update on all 3 controllers but cant get the mic to pickup.

i have a pair of tb earforce x1s. headphones connected to tv headphone out and a 2.5 to 3.5 cable from the tb box to the adapter.

in a party plugging into the adapter cuts off kinect chat but then doesnt show the circle to denote im taking.

should this work

Xbox Elite Controller Being Recognized as a Regular Controller

I have this same microphone input issue with my Master Chief controller and Stereo Headset Adapter. Both the Master Chief and Elite controllers are listed as compatible with the Stereo Headset Adapter.

I had the same problem after updating my controller. My headset is tutlebeach x12, and when I plugged the controller to the xbox one the update wasn't asking to updatenI had to make noise in the mic for the xbox one to recognize that a headset was added,
and then offered to update my controller. After updating I had the same issue when I tried it in a group. I've even plugged the headset that was coming with the Xbox one without any success, even the headset that was coming with then console was doing the
same, no signal when I was speaking in the mic (the circle wasnt showingnthat I was talking)

Well all this tell you that I've clossed my consolle and my controller, I've even unplugged the power cord. Openned my consolle back up and retryed in a group the headset coming with the Xbox and I was working like new, then plugged my turtle beach with
the stereo headset adapter and it was working, the circle was showing signal when I was talking, also tryed it in Battlefield 4 and to my big surprise it was working !

might try it all again tonight by powering off at the mains like you did and first connect the headset that came with the console

now my friends can join a party i cant talk to them so slowly getting there

 

Microsoft phoned me today to check if my order had arrived.

They said the headset adapter will be fully functional with a software update coming out tomorrow. This is supposedly 8th addition to the controller firmware I've already done 3 times.

 

I've had this issue since plugging in my chat adapter. It happens EVERY time I use it.

The only thing that works for me, is to shut down the xbox and turn back on. That seems to clear the issue. Having to do that every time I want to chat...sucks.

Please fix Microsoft!

 

@ChrisInBoston Same here. It actually started working. I can't remember when, but I didn't have to do the reboot thing (sometimes multiple) every time.

Now after the June update and updating the controller/adapter firmware, my MS stereo headphone mic is nerfed. Friends say I'm at like 10% volume. No clue what to do.
