Stereo Headset Adapter - Microphone does not work (at all), and only sends loud static to ...

I am using the Stereo Headset Adapter with the Turtle Beach X12 headset, and have it plugged in as described in the

cable diagram here.

I can hear game audio fine.

I can hear others in party chat fine.

They hear a loud static and cannot hear me talk.

When I use the mute button on the adapter, it lights up, and they no longer hear the loud static. I can only communicate with morse code...

Stereo headset adapter and apple earbud problem

Yeah I have an Xbox one stereo headset adapter and some apple EarPods and the audio of the stereo sounds great but according to my friends the microphone appears not to work or sends straight static over the adapter... But the mic on the EarPods work fine
on other things like my laptop, iPad, and cell phone so I know that the mic works.

so is my adapter busted or are the EarPods not compatible or what?

has anyone else have this problem? if so did you fix it and how?

 

Xbox One Stereo Headset/Adapter not loud enough? Help.

I just bought the official Xbox One stereo headset which comes with the headset adapter. Ive tried the headset, and also tried some beats solo 2 on the adapter which suprisingly work. I just want to enjoy some loud story gaming without waking up my roomates. The problem is, with either headset, the max volume just does not seem to be loud enough. Why wont the headset get louder? the max level is stiill sounding low, does anyone else feel this way about the adapter?

A lot of people (including me) are having this problem and Microsoft refuses to say anything about it. Ridiculous.

 

My issue is FIXED. It was the result of a defective Stereo Headset Adapter. I had bought one pre-owned from GameStop. I returned it and got a new one, and it's working now.

How I debugged my particular issue: In party chat, my name was constantly with a green circle as if I was chatting (the static). So I tried a bunch of things to try and locate what was going wrong. Upon unplugging the headsets microphone cable completely,
the static was still going! (so controller w/ headset adapter, with the small converter cable plugged in, with nothing plugged into it). So the issue had to be with the adapter or the cable that comes with it.

I still hear a very low crackling/white noise, which may be related to what a lot of people are still having issues with (such as when your charger cable is plugged in..saw that coming up a lot online). Maybe these things are not well made, maybe I just
got a bad one that someone *** up and traded in. Not sure. I'm glad it's fixed. I'm not glad to have to buy an overpriced accessory as soon as I buy a new console, that could have just been packaged in as part of the default headset...
