Stereo Headset Adapter buzzing noise when using wired controller

Hey, I recently bought the headset adapter and it works fine except when I use a USB to mini USB cable to power my X1 controller. When I use a wired controller there is a really strong buzzing noise at all times. People complain when I'm in party with them
and so on. It's unbearable to play like that... I found a way later to make it quieter and more bearable but it's still there. What I did is that I used the USB to mini USB cable that came with the adapter. The buzzing noise is about three times quieter and
is bearable. People can only hear it when I talk but since it's quieter, they don't complain but they can still hear it. The thing is that when I use batteries to power my controller that buzzing noise goes away completely.

I'm using Turtle Beach X11's as my headset and I also updated my controller . I made sure my xbox, game, and adapter settings are correct. I tried all the basic solutions but nothing helped...

My friend has the same issue. He uses the SteelSeries Siberia v2's and also has an updated controller. So the problem isn't in the headsets. He tried to plug his USB to mini USB cable that powers his controller into a different power source other than his X1,
but it didn't help. The buzzing noise gets a lot quieter when he uses the USB to mini USB cable that comes with the adapter, but it's too short for his setup so he can't use it and has to buy batteries.

I'm guessing the issue is in the USB to mini USB cable that powers the controller. Using any other cable other than the one that came with the adapter causes a loud buzzing noise. The buzzing noise is a lot quieter when I'm using the cable that came with the
adapter. However, when I'm using batteries to power my controller that buzzing noise is not there anymore.

    :)

Turtle Beach Earforce X12 makes continuous buzzing sound with stereo headset adapter/xbox one controller

I purchased the xbox one stereo headset adapter so that I could use my turtle beach earforce X12 headset on the xbox one. I checked the compatibility page and the earforce x12 was compatible with the stereo adapter. When my xbox one controller is plugged
into the xbox one via usb cable (no batteries or battery pack) and my turtle beach headset is plugged into the controller (via the stereo headset adapter), I get a constant buzzing noise in the headset like there is interference or something. If I connect
the controller to the xbox one without the usb cord (using battery power), there is no buzzing sound and the headset works fine. I just really don’t want to have to keep buying batteries and/or get a battery pack so I was hoping there is a way to power the
controller with just a usb cable (no batteries/battery pack) that doesn’t involve plugging it into the xbox one system directly since this appears to cause some interference and the buzzing sound. The same thing would happen on my xbox 360, but all I had to
do to fix it was plug the controller (using the plug and play cord only, no battery pack) into a usb outlet in the wall so that the headset and controller weren’t being powered off of the xbox 360 (I also tried plugging the headset into a usb outlet and leaving
the controller plugged into the xbox but I still had the buzzing noise if I did it that way). If I try this method on the xbox one, the contoller won’t power on when plugged into a usb wall outlet. Is there any way to get the controller to power on when it
is plugged into a usb wall outlet?

Here is what I did to hook the headset up to the xbox one in the first place:

I hooked up the stereo headset adapter and updated my xbox one controller. I then used the following instructions to hook up my turtle beach headset:

    1. hooked the stereo adapter into the controller,

    2. attached the 2.5mm-3.5mm cord adapter into the stereo adapter,

    3. plugged my turtle beach headset cord into the 2.5mm-3.5mm cord adapter,

    4. plugged the audio cord on the headset into the audio out on the monitor,

    5. plugged the headset usb power cord into the xbox.

When you say it connects directly to the controller, do you mean you are not using the stereo headset adaptor:

Stereo Headset Adapter buzzing noise when using wired controller

    Hi

I have the same issue and apparently it is when your headset mixer is powered by your Xbox too. I have used a simple USB power supply, and buzzing has gone.

    You could try that!

  5. The buzzing happens when the controller is charger the best way to reduce the buzz is to slightly turn the voice chat down from the headset. There is no way that I know of to completely get rid of it though so I tend to charge my controller when I am not
playing online or when I go to bed so it is charged and ready to go without the buzz if I decide I want to play online.

I'm also having the same problem with the same setup. (Turtle Beach X11 and headset adapter) I believe it must be something to do with the current going into the controller causing some kind of noise which is affecting the circuitry. I'm not certain if they'll
be able to fix this with an update if this is the case. It seems like they'd have to lower the current going to the controllers which they're charging.

    Headset Buzzing

    Hi Liphtou,

Thanks for the update. When you use a different controller is it also a wired one? There have been issues with this same buzzing noise when using a wired controller. If you can try a wireless controller. Also try and make sure your controller is

    up to date
    .

    Thanks,

    Brad
