Stereo headphones/controller issues with new Netflix update

As most people have noted the new Netflix update is pretty bad.

Taking aside the other issues found by other, most of which I agree with, I have another issue to add to the list. The controller with an attached Xbox stereo headphones now times out. Which means after short period the controller turns off and of course
the stereo headphones sound is gone. You can't watch anything without having to constantly manually start up the controller again in order to have the headphones active again. Not the way it used to work. Before it worked just like the TV and never timed
out when the Netflix app was active.

    Fix this!!!

    :)

new XB1 controller on PC - no audio

    hello folks,

I've got quite a difficult one that I can't seem to solve:

    - have new Xbox One controller with integrated headphone jack (3.5mm)

    - have new Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10

    - have Microsoft Xbox Stereo Headet

    - have Microsoft Stereo Headset adapter

Running Windows 10 (all available updates installed, build 1511 - november update).

Controller firmware updated as of November 28th.

I connect the wireless adapter to USB, power on the new controller and pair successfully. The controller works with games, all buttons working, very little lag. So far so good. When I connect the stereo headset to the controller, my windows volume control
shows "Headphones (USB Audio Device)" but I can't hear anything. I thought maybe it doesn't work wirelessly, so I unplugged the wireless adapter and connected my new controller via USB. The same thing happens, no sound.

I unplugged my headset from the new controller, I plugged in the stereo headset adapter into the new controller, I plugged in my headset into the adapter. In Windows sound settings, I see "Headphones (USB Audio Device) - 2" but now the sound works! So I
unplug the controller from USB and pair it again with my Windows 10 Wireless adapter. The audio works, as long as the headset adapter is connected to the controller. The built-in headphone jack on the new controller doesn't produce sound.

I checked the forums before posting and others are stating they are having issues but they can get the sound to work. Any suggestions?

Xbox one controller right analogue stick drifting up

My left analog has been drifting since stereo headphone update...

Day one controller also. Devastated. Surely the controller isn't broken?

    I have barely used it.

I've updated the controller and reset the system and unplugged the adapter and plugged it back in i actually have a turtle beach headset that works but my bose headphones do not work and it appears that a lot of other people are also having issues with certain
headphones is this a widespread issue?

    Isabella: at 22:02:32

Yes, because the new stereo headset was just officially released yesterday Eric. And we have been receiving this same issues with other people. Don't worry, our Microsoft engineers are now working to get this issue resolved as soon as possible Eric.

    Eric: at 22:03:12

is there going to be another controller update to add support to more headphones?

    Isabella: at 22:06:55

We do not have any information yet if a new update will be released to add support to this stereo headset Eric. However rest assured our Microsoft engineers are working for it.

    Isabella: at 22:06:55

As of this time in order to resolve this issue what we advised you is to get your headset adapter replaced.

Does nt look like our headphones are going to be working anytime soon

    Volume on Xbox One Controller

A compatible headset has to be plugged into the controller in order to change the volume and. If you have another pair of headphones or controller to test where the issue is arising that would be great.

If that has been done, it is a widely discussed issue that some controllers don't change the the volume. In that case, a stereo adapter could work such as this
    one
    or alternatively a new controller.

    Headset issues

I would join the party, try another pair of headphones. If it works with the other pair then it is the Afterglow. If it does then i would start going through my xbox chat settings. If you do not own another pair of headphones i would just exchange the afterglows
and see if the new pair works or not.

Also you could try updating your controller. Sometimes that is an issue as well. Here is an article on how to do that.
