  1. Stereo Adapter Not Working

Hi! I have an issue with my stereo adapter for my old controller, some days ago my controller ran out of batteries so I decided to change them; while changing the batteries and introducing the new ones I saw how the adapter´s LED suddenly turned on and off
(it happened in one sec, on and off). So when I saw that the controller had full battery, I connected my headset to my controller (via the adapter) but I realized that the controller didn´t recognize the headset and that the LED didn´t turn on. I thought it
was caused by my old controller and I updated it, but it didn´t work, so I connected the adapter to my new controller and it didn´t work either. I tried the headset in other electronic devices and it did work, so the problem is the adapter. What can I do?
Should I buy a new one?

    :)

Update: Will a Xbox 360 work with my sound card or can I do this?

Assuming the adapter works properly, yes. You will of course need the appropriate adapter cable to go from female RCA to to either stereo mini plug or stereo mini jack.

Note that this will only work for the audio from the console. It does not get you a working mic setup.

    Xbox Stereo Adapter not working

I spoke with a customer service person over chat tonight, and he redirected me here.

I have an over-the-ear headset that was given to me as a gift christmas 2014, and recently the headset's right earpiece broke free of the top piece. That is not the biggest issue though, as it still partially worked up until tonight (7/14) when the stereo
adapter stopped working altogether. I contacted Karl at customer support and he helped me troubleshoot the adapter, then he recommended me getting a new adapter (and/or a new headset). The trouble is I cannot take the headset/adapter back because I do not
have the receipt for it, (but i do have the box with all original papers), and I also do not know where the headset was purchased from.

Please help me resolve this issue

  4. Stereo Adapter Not Working

    Hi there MoonWalker2185,

Have you had the chance to work through all the steps in ourXbox One Stereo Headset adapter troubleshooting guide yet? If you are still
not able to use the adapter after those steps you will want to look into replacing the device.

    Thank you!

Can't hear people through my turtle beaches!

have you tried the official MS Stereo Chat adapter or the ones supplied by Turtlebeach?

i had it at that point where it didnt work with the Turtlebeach supplied Chat adapter for the XO7 Pros but it worked fine with the MS Stereo Chat adapter.

    Xbox one s controller

The Stereo Headset adapter uses the USB-like port next to the 3.5mm plug. So if only the 3.5 mm port is mechanically defective, the Stereo Adapter should work.

If however, the "sound decoder" inside the controller is faulty, neither the 3.5mm plug nor the Stereo Headset adapter will work, and you will have to get your controller serviced.

Stereo Headset Adapter issues and questions

If you have a question or problem using the Stereo Headset Adapter, see the following topics.

    Stereo Headset Adapter isn’t working

If your Stereo Headset Adapter isn’t functioning well, check the following:

Have you updated your controller’s software to support the Stereo Headset Adapter?

Make sure your controller has fresh batteries. When the batteries get weak, some controller functions like audio and rumble get turned off to conserve the remaining power.

Make sure your headset adapter is firmly plugged into your controller and that your stereo headset’s 3.5-mm cable is securely plugged into the headset adapter. You will know it’s plugged in properly if you press the mute button and the LED lights up.
If the mute light comes on and you have updated your controller but your headset isn’t working, consult the manual or manufacturer.

Try your Stereo Headset Adapter on another controller if you can. If the adapter works on the second controller, try updating the first controller again. If that fails, the controller will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the Xbox Online
    Service Center.

Can I use a Xbox one sterio headset with a DVI converter?

    Hi Legend of RDG

    If I understand your question...

Q: If you buy the Stereo Adapter, will this allow you to hear sound.

A: Yes, the stereo adapter will allow you to plug in headphones to hear sound. I omitted the headset that comes with the adapter just in case you already have headphones.

(The Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter lets you plug a compatible chat or stereo headset into the Xbox One Controller to control your audio experience without taking your hands off the controller.)

The adapter will work with many existing headphones, but you can opt to buy the Xbox Headphones (w/Mic) and adapter too
