Steam - Windows Live Gaming - and Windows 10...ick!

The Games for Windows Live service has not been updated since 2014 and most game copies purchased from that marketplace will have issues logging in to the service if you bought them through Steam. Many game developers abandoned GFWL, allowing you to
redeem a non-GFWL copy or install a patch that removes GFWL through Steam. But not all of them have. For example, Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City still use GFWL, as
does Bethesda’s Fallout 3. Bethesda never seemed to patch Fallout 3 to remove the GFWL license so that you can play on Steam without signing in to your Microsoft Account and that is why it still asks you to sign in to GFWL even though
the service is no longer supported.

Games for windows live doesn't support gears 1 ultimare or mcc

There aren't any servicea even still running for it you need to link with steam for service with games for windows live

Xbox for Windows pc is only supported on Windows 10 and above

Games for Windows has been dead for over 10 years now

as games for windows is not really supported anymore it can be a pain to get it running in windows 10

If you have Windows 10 there actually is no need for the Windows Live app anymore. That app is to play games on Xbox Live if you had any of the earlier versions, like Windows 8.1 or Windows 8.

This is 100% wrong.

The Games for Windows Live (GFWL) App is still required if you want to play games that require it. Shadowrun, the Batman games (if you're not playing the Steam port), etc.

Since you mentioned a Live ID, I suspect that it is GFWL that's the issue, but I could be wrong.
