^You're not serious are you? Or are you one of those people that think the Steam machine is being marketed as a console? It's entire purpose is for streaming games from your main PC to the box. Any company can even go ahead and make a "Steambox". All it
is is a compact PC with SteamOS on it (Which is just linux which is free to begin with). A steam app will never happen on the Xbox One. Valve has literally no reason to do it and nothing to gain from it. It feels like you don't even know much about them to
begin with seeing as you think Steam is the name of their company.

No I'm one of those people that see the Steam box in no mans land. If I had a PC why would I want this. PC can already be hooked up to a TV. And if I already own a console why exactly do I want this just for games I could play on a low to mid range PC or
    laptop anyway?

This appeals to a very small part of the market.

If you think the current consoles are expensive than these machines will not be what your after.

If you CAN afford these you would be still better buying a PC.

As I said they are DOA.

P.S I know plenty about them. Oversight I said steam not Valve. Your turn.

    Steam coming to Xbox ?

It's designed for somebody that want's a small box that can fit in their entertainment stand rather than a full tower next to it. One thing about the Steam in home streaming is you don't exactly need a client with amazing specs. I'm able to connect my laptop
with a dual core i5 @ 2.4ghz and a 240m and stream at 1080p 60fps and low MS over wifi with no issues because I have a decent host computer. Their purpose is for somebody that already has a gaming rig. Sure it's not exactly designed for everybody I'll agree
with you there but I have no reason to believe it's going to flop especially when the entire name revolving around "Steambox" is only because it comes with SteamOS preinstalled + the controller.

I'm sure there'll be more expensive ones down the line that come with higher end specs for the purpose of playing games on it directly but right now there isn't much of a reason since Linux support for games is still growing and you don't exactly have the
biggest catalog at the moment. For streaming you could probably get one for around the same price if not less than a console. I mean Gamespot has already shown that you can build a rig that matches the graphical settings console use at better framerates for
    the same price.

I still wouldn't rule out a steam App for Xbox or Playstation. No one saw EA Access coming. If a deal is done with Gabe you could see him pulling the plug on his Official Steam machine and leave the 3rd party manufacturers swinging in the breeze. It this
lack of commitment from Valve at this stage that says they aren't that sure of this concept either. More money to be made if he allowed the steam library on every device and MS seem more open to this now more than ever. Don and Steve are not here anymore.

It would be some what realistic to expect an app if Gabe hasn't already come out and state his extreme disgust for Windows 8 and I think it says a lot when Valve even went as far as pushing for linux and adopting their own linux based OS. Another thing is
Valve isn't exactly a company that would even make a deal like this either based on what happened with EA and how they refuse to release newer titles on Steam and led to the creation of Origin.

There's also that Microsoft would simply lose tons of money based on the fact that nobody would have a any reason to buy games from their Marketplace if given the option to buy games that are constantly discounted for drastically lower prices. For example,
    here's my account;

    i3.minus.com/i7z1Ym4mVRDSC.jpg

You can probably add another $100 to that from humble bundles and misc sales.

If I were to have purchased all of these at full price it would have costed me $4449.81

Gabe already doesn't want to deal with Windows 8 because of the Microsoft store being preinstalled and people can have their games put up on it so how would it be any different if it was on a console?

I can't I'm one of those people that think Gabe is God and can do no wrong or that I think the steam library is that fantastic, but it does have done great deals on games I may not have tried or thought to have tried. Reality is the steam Eco system isn't
the best out there. I have it on my mac and have bought zero games on it. Not because I think the games are bad it is just that I play on my console all the time. Give me the app on X1 and he gets some of my money. MS allowing EA to sell games will already
take revenue from the xboxone Marketplace but only if people want to sub to the App. If MS was worried about that part of the business they wouldn't have allowed it like Sony did.

    Steam coming to Xbox ?

And EA isn't Valve. One company thrives on PC and the other off multiplats. Steam constantly has around 4.5 million+ at any concurrent time and sometimes hitting over 7 million and we're not even considering unique users per day here at all. If Valve cared
about -your- money then they would have already sold themselves out at this point and right now they have no reason to do that whatsoever. Not to mention if something like that did happen there would without a doubt be a mass boycott by pc gamers and say goodbye
to their money. Reality is on PC Steam is what you're saying it's not. Right now there is no competition whatsoever. Uplay and Origin can't even compete or come close to the scale of what Steam is today.

I doubt PC gamers would boycott anything. K&M and scalable games is what matters to them not that console will be able to access it. Why would they care?

Because if it happened it would mean Valve partnering with the company that created the god awful abomination known as Games For Windows Live. That alone would be enough to make it happen.

Lol. I doubt it. Steam on PC wouldn't change, so they wouldn't care. I think your thinking people care that much. As long as they still get cheap games through steam they don't have to care about what partnership happens with valve.

And that right there shows you don't know much about the PC gaming community whatsoever. I mean I can keep doing this for as long as you want seeing as I have a sleep disorder and I got nothing else to do to kill time at 6:40am. You can "lol doubt it" all
you'd like but it doesn't change the truth whatsoever.

Valve will have some games on consoles, as they did in the past, sure. They might even have a version of Steam on Xbox One, but DO NOT expect to see Steam's entire catalog on Xbox One, not going to happen.

[/quote]Wow I don't know, maybe the service or the simple fact that Steams a storefront? Ignorance much? I mean this whole discussion is absolutely hilarious when something is guaranteed to never touch the console.
