Staying connected when changing TV channels

Has anybody else noticed that you lose your connection to a game if you switch TV channels. WTF! If I've died or I'm sitting in a lobby, why can't I just check what's on TV, then come back to the game? Does the game really require that much of my attention
when I don't have anything that needs doing?

July update completely broke quality of live tv experience

Wow what a complete disaster live tv is now after the July update.

I have a direct tv receiver, hr20, and panasonic plasma vt60.

My problems:

1. Constant we lost your signal errors when changing channels that go away after several seconds

2. Constant your hardware isn't licensed to watch protected content from my receiver when changing channels

3. Experiencing static grainy screen, loss of signal, when changing channels

4. Tv app launches in broken state sometimes where signal fades in and out.

 

DNS settings not saving

Yes, it's Prism TV. The TV worked when the modem was bridged, but would "lose signal" every 2 minutes, which was 'fixed' by changing the channel.

 

I usually snap the TV to do this when I want to see what's happening in the Red Sox game.

 

I disconnected the feed-through. I like to watch TV without needing to have my xbox switched on. I was also getting problems where the youview box (STB) was complaining about copy protection, or the screen would just go black because the HDMI connection
on the feed-through was poor, so I'd have to fiddle with cables to get it working again. The TV signal is also downgraded from 1080i to 720p when going through the xbox one, so it really wasn't a good solution at all. In the UK we don't have any compatible
boxes which have guide options too, so it's really a big waste of time.

 

Sorry, I should not have assumed you had the Cable box hooked up to the Xbox.
