"Stay gold: renew now" message from home screen won't go despite renewing

Christmas 2013 my gold account was coming to an end and in the few weeks before it ran out, i got the big green picture of a controller on my home screen telling me to renew now !

When i did renew my gold, i expected that message to be gone and replaced with the usual new features about games and offers etc... instead i am still seeing that green picture telling me to renew when i have many months of gold left.

One explanation i have is that when i was paying for my gold from a gift card, when i pressed enter for the code, the xbox crashed as it was loading up. when i rebooted i was relieved to see that it had indeed registered my 12 months gold but seemed to forget
to take away this annoying message from my home screen.

if there is anything i can do to remove it or tell my xbox home screen that it's all ok and i have renewed. I know it's nothing to important but it's annoying me

How to Renew your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership

Overview of Xbox LIVE Renewal

When your current Xbox LIVE Gold Membership is about to run out, you will get a renewal message on your screen.

• Month-to-month membership- Notification comes 15 days in advance
• 3 or 12 month membership- Notification comes 30 days in advance

Xbox LIVE membership can be renewed using a credit card, a debit card, or a Prepaid Gold Membership Card.

If your automatic membership renewal (auto renewal) is set to off, you can purchase a new subscription or use a prepaid membership card to renew your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership.

Renew with a payment option by purchasing a new membership:

Steps to Follow

1) Use your Xbox LIVE gamertag to sign in.

2) Under Settings, select Account.

3) Proceed to Your Memberships, and select the membership that you currently have (for example Xbox LIVE Gold)

4) Select Modify Membership and you will be presented with a list of renewal options. If you are on an Xbox LIVE Free Membership, you can choose to upgrade to Gold Membership.

5) Select a membership option, then Confirm Purchase.

Once you have confirmed your purchase, the following will happen:

• The payment option you are using will be charged immediately.
• The time subscription plan you have just purchased will be added to your remaining subscription time.
• Your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership will be activated and auto renewal turned on.

Take note:

If you use a credit card as your payment option, you cannot remove it on file until your current membership expires.

There is a procedure you can follow to add or change your Xbox LIVE payment option.

Renew with a prepaid membership card

It is possible to renew your Xbox LIVE membership using a Prepaid Microsoft Gold Membership Card. This card is available at retail locations.

If you choose to redeem a prepaid Xbox LIVE membership code, you will be added time to your existing Xbox LIVE membership, while your renewal settings will remain unchanged.

How to turn on auto renewal (for existing membership):

If you are already on Xbox LIVE Gold of Family Pack membership and you want to turn on auto renewal without purchasing new membership, you should contact Xbox Support.

How to Troubleshoot Xbox LIVE renewal:

If there are issues with your Xbox LIVE account, you might receive the following messages. The solutions are provided below:

• Error: Your credit card has been declined several times by our billing service.

This means that your credit card has expired, or the information on it has been changed. To solve this problem, there is a procedure you can follow to change payment option for Xbox LIVE membership.

• Error: 8015d080

In case you receive this error message, you need to contact Xbox Support.

Ok... thank you very much ... I will do it.

 

It's there for me too, but other times I switch my console on and off something new appears, I don't think this is a fault, I think this is just advertising that everyone will see renewed or not

 

Im having the same problems as you guys, I renewed also with a pre-paid XBL card & it still says renew now, has stayed the same since xmas.

 

You could try redownloading the profile, but that message on the dash may be triggered by the fact that your auto-renewal is off. With auto-renewal off, the system always registers your account as one that is scheduled to cancel. You could always turn
auto-renewal on, which I reckon would make the message disappear. Then just turn it back off when you get your 30 day advance renewal notice.

 

where do you turn the auto-renewal off/on ? i've looked all over

 

Hmm. I don't get that message and my auto renew is off. It could have to do with me being a member for 6 years lol. Here's a link for a guide on how to turn auto renewal off. I know you want it on , but this will tell you where to go regardless of your preference.

 

I have this exact same problem. The ads on the other tabs change but since Xmas '13, the main box on the Home screen tab has remained the Stay Gold: Renew now one.

Obviously I have renewed. Got 2 years queued up in fact.

I've tried deleting the cache and deleting/recovering my profile but nothing seems to fix this strange issue.

Anyone have any ideas?

 

Well yesterday (Sunday 2nd March) It was showing the new Titanfall Xbox One bundle. Today however back to "Stay Gold: Renew Now"

 

Same here, which makes me think that it's microsofts end and probably something to do with the automatica renewal. Hopefully they will read this and just check my account, see i have 10 months left and take that message off. i can't buy their offers if they
keep hiding them from me can i?

 

Yeah i also been having the same problem with my xbox one home screen too, when my friend signs into his profile on my xbox one it does'nt show no "Renew Gold" message on his Profiles Home Screen. And which it should show that for him, because does not even
have Gold at all. Plus my gold recently expired so i renewed it through that glitched-up ad, and I set it to auto-renew. And that stupid featurd ad still shows up! so auto-renew did'nt fix it! i talked to xbox support and they said it sounds like a Glitch
with your profile it-self and not the xbox one. SO I HOPE THEY FIX THAT PROFILE GLITCH SOON!

 

Has anyone found a fix for this?
