Status code 80122727 when trying to redeem Black Friday code

Got a message from (I assume, at least it looked legit) Xbox Live that said I had until Dec 29 to redeem code for $10.

When I try to redeem the code, I get the status code: 80122727

Anyone else?

Doesn't seem to be a solution on the forums, and the error code search page doesn't recognize it.

Remeeming errors are usually caused by issues on the account itself. Be sure to check your billing and payment option information at htp://account.microsoft.com and after that try redeeming the code on both xbox console and via xbox.com/redeemcode

It was the free $5 promotion. The status code is: 80122727

Me too the code for £5 credit GAME sent me is recognised as being £5 but when I click redeem now I get the 80122727 error.
